This book is really attractively produced and shows off Tove Jansson's gorgeous, richly coloured illustrations beautifully. There are multiple stunning double-page spreads that you'll almost want to frame, and the whole thing has a charming mid-century style. The translated verse reads very well and the story is typically strange and sweet. It would make as good a gift for an art/design-loving adult as it does for a child.

Not wanting to repeat other reviews of this book...It's wonderful for so many more reasons too. About A4 in size and has lovely matt finished paper pages & the cover too, that you just can't help but want to stroke!!!Excellent illustrations, magical story, a good size & feel appeal - what more could you ask for?

If you haven't read this book you really should! Beautiful poem about life and about being shy. Fantastic illustrations.
