Dog or cat mat with waterproof backing
We're not using it for a dog/cat waterbowl, but I suspect it would work well. We're using it when we give our dogs cookies. It seems to help keep the drool under control and not go all over the floor. It is easy to wipe. We haven't washed it yet.

Works as described but too small
This product works as described and keeps my floor dry, at least under the mat. The only problem is that they don’t offer a size large enough for big slobbery dogs. I really need one that extends out beyond the border of the dog dish holder to catch the water dribbling out of my Great Pyrenees mouth.
