Derek Jeter Presents Night at the Stadium (Jeter Publishing) Hardcover – Picture Book, April 26, 2016

My boyfriend plays baseball and he read this as a guest reader for my students. They loved it and were in awe of the pictures and the characters. Great book for any baseball family!

This is a really cute book about a boy lost at Yankee Stadium after a game. He encounters talking rakes, baseballs, sushi etc. it even includes Monument Park, Babe Ruth and Derek Jeter. While the book itself may not be "biographical" per say, the family is interracial just like Derek Jeter's, which I'm sure is no mistake. While the book isn't exactly cohesive, my daughter can't get enough of it and that's what matters to this Yankee fan!

I enjoyed the simple story and kids but also the fact that there was a plot throughout. Very imaginative. Illustrations were well done.

I bought this to kick off our "Read Around the Bases" program with our entire 2nd grade. Readers came from the Charleston Riverdogs (our minor league team & Yankees affiliate). This book had all 300 kids waiting for the next page. They LOVED it! It is a fun take on the game (but remind your kids not to ever wander off at a stadium) & is in the same style as "Night at the Museum." The kids & teachers all LOVED this book! Our minor league team loved it so much they kept it to read to other schools, so I'm ordering another copy for myself! Fun for all ages!
