The gloves are nicely constructed. Thick leather and lining to protect from heat / burns when handling wood in an active fireplace. .

The idea of “one-size-fits-most” is pretty simple. Make the gloves big enough that everyone can get their hands in them. It doesn’t mean, if you have small, dainty hands like my wife, that the glove will, well, ‘fit like a glove.’ It's accurate to say these gloves fit most folks. In spite of the gloves being very large for my wife’s small hands, she still loves them.We use these gloves for firewood, so she loves the long sleeve that helps keep her shirt sleeve clean from soot, ash, and the snags from firewood. She also likes the idea that the gloves are insulated and heat resistant. This says more about the gloves we’ve been using for firewood than anything else.If you use your dad’s old garage gloves for firewood, it’s time to upgrade to this excellent pair of firewood gloves. I’ve been using regular suede leather gloves with no insulation for years. Funny how sparks and hot metal seem to find the little hole in that pair of gloves.I would consider my hands to be medium-large by most standards. My palm circumference is 8.5”. And from where my palm meets my wrist to the tip of my middle finger is about 8”. I would consider my fingers to be on the boney side (though I wouldn’t be concerned if you have more meaty fingers since there seems to be ample room in there).With that, the gloves feel slightly large for me. There is no constriction at all on any finger or the palm of the glove. The finger length seems pretty good on the middle finger (I measure about 3.5” from the crease on the inside where my palm meets my finger to the tip of my finger and my finger doesn’t touch the tip of the glove but is close). The other fingers there seems to be some room (which is typical for most gloves on my hands at least).If you have large hands, these gloves should be good to go. Extra large? Hold on to your receipt!

It's a good buy and works fine to hold cast iron from the oven. Only downside is it is a bit snug for my hands. I usually wear Medium sized gloves.

Good gloves overall, but I had to turn the thumb out and resew the lining at that spot because it was sewn wrong, leaving a hole in the lining and a pucker that caught my fingers as I inserted my hand into the glove. They work fine now, but I sh..hsould not have to re-create them to use them.

I purchased these gloves because our fireplace is large and the heat it generates hurts your hands when you are using the tools to stoke the fire. I have been using these gloves for over a month now and am amazed at how well they work. I have actually picked up hot burning logs that rolled off of the rack and placed them back on the fire. I never felt any heat and the gloves cleaned up with just water and still work and look like new. Very impressed and highly recommend.
