A must have
The optical quality is nothing less than absolutelly stellar... Don't be put off by the misconception and general idea that telecomverters degrade image quality to the point that it is more advantageous to use digital zoom, or image cropping... Pack this teleconverter with the 40-150mm f2.8 pro and be amazed by the supersharp images you get, the almost 1:1 magnification = almost macro capabilities, and yes the images are that sharp!!!The max apperture is stopped down to a constant f5.6, which is extremelly usable in real life nature photography. The focus speed is, at the most, only very slightly affected (I didn't notice any change). This teleconverter extends the 40-150mm to 80-300mm which is equivalent to 160-600mm ff format... For me 600mm is the limit for a hand held telelens, what a great piece of kit this teleconverter is! It increases the versatility of an already extremelly versatile lens.

Good product, careful with the price
I use compatible lenses, happy to get it then the price went down 41% the next day 600 to 400....Pissed off, don't pay more than 450. With the right lenses it's a good product.

Providing extra reach...
This 2x teleconverter is a lightweight solution to extend the reach of Olympus 100-400mm to 200-800mm. However, I used it only when lighting is good and the subject is beyond the reach of 400mm, as the largest aperture becomes f13. Focusing is still quite fast and accurate on EM1 mkii which I am using, even in indoor lighting.
