Could use some tweeks, but works well
I love that it attaches and detaches with a low profile. My dog took to it without any problems. Felt very secure once it was in place. My one gripe is the attachment point. When attaching the pole you have to make 2 clicks or it will fall off. which doesn't entirely feel intuitive. Also to get it off normally takes a few tries. No more than a minute, a minor annoyance, but when my dog is done she wants to be DONE, and I'm trying to fiddle with it.

Good after fixes
The media could not be loaded. I just got back from our first bike ride, and I'm feeling very encouraged. This extension is going to be very handy! However, we had to alter the product some to make it work well; if it weren't for our changes, I would have returned it.In fact, I did return the first one and they sent me a second. The package included two clear silicone-type strips of plastic, presumably to place under the vice that you attach around your seat stem, so that the leash extension won't twist forward and backward when your dog pulls or hangs back. Also to protect your seat stem. The package did NOT include instructions (neither the first one or the replacement) so I'm just guessing that's what they were for; one as an extra.I used one of these pieces, but it was useless, no matter how much I tightened it. The extension bar easily rotated forward and backward. When it came forward, it was in the way of my pedaling leg. Wasn't going to work. My husband suggested using a piece of bike tube instead, so I removed everything and replaced it with a tiny piece of tube. It looked promising, but in trying to reattach everything, one of the bolts got crossthreaded, and then it was all useless. Thankfully the other one was still okay, so I was able to get it off my bike and send it all back. So, round 2, I knew what I was doing, and it all went off without a hitch. But my seat is narrow enough that the bolts were too long and my leg would be getting scratched by the bolts with every pedal rotation. Again, not gonna work!My husband sawed about 3/4 of an inch off of each bolt, then filed the raw edges. Finally, we were in business, and we had a successful, delightful bike ride, with minimal rotation of the extension. My dogs could easily still make me wreck, but I feel like it would be...a safer wreck? A more easily-managed wreck than if I was holding the leash. Also, I had the option to pick a blue- or black-handled extension. I picked black, but the package came with an extra black grip and 2 blue ones, too. It's hard to imagine using the extension so much that the original grip wears out, but I guess I'll be glad to have the extras if it does.Other than the problems I mentioned and we addressed, I like the product, but it you've never put attachments on a bike before and you don't have power tools, these issues could bring it down to a single, lonely star review. A few tweaks (better material for the seat stem protection/grip, shorter bolts, possibly bolt caps) could make it 4 stars better.

Odd situation solved
So I have a new puppy. She's a runner and I just can't keep up. This was designed to attach to the seat post. I attached to the handlebars and snap on her retractable leash to this. Works out pretty well. I just need to keep an eye on her to assure she doesn't go running to the side, which doesn't really happen. No one else's works at all. For the dollars I can't beat it.

Length
I received the product today and attached it to the bicycle so that the dogs height (thigh level puppy) was considered in the placement for the pup's height. This prevented me from peddling correctly as I placed it below the top male bar of the bike on the seat neck. For testing purposes, I walked the pup with it to get her comfortable with it and after about 1/2 mile I peddled left legged as the placement was lower than should be and interfered with my right ankle as I peddled. (Okay, on me, was placed to low.)Plus: The product is solid. Good marks in all but comfort but this is based on the dog.Minus: Placed correctly, the cord and bar allow either the puppy to be chocked or run into the bike.I had a 4' bungee harness with me and hooked it under me on the seat to take her home. The pup appeared more relaxed and more comfortable traughting beside me.I am not against this product as it is solid and should last a long time. NOTE: It comes with a silicone insert to prevent the product scratching your bicycle. I will provide more feedback as I test it over time and raise it above the crossbar area of the bicycle.

Great invention, well designed, works well for bike rides and walks
The media could not be loaded. I have been making an extra effort to walk and ride my bike outside more. My dog loves to go, but I find myself walking when really I would like to take a bike ride because I didn’t have a practical way to take her. I didn’t even know these existed until a friend told me to check out leashes for my bike. I was excited to learn this is a thing, and have been enjoying it immensely ever since. I installed it on the front of my bike, which allows my dog to walk ahead of me. This is better and safer then her walking to side. It arrives in two main pieces, the handle part connects to the piece that attaches to the front bar by bolts. It comes with an allen wrench you will need to tighten the bolts. In order to connect the leash, you will employ the snap mechanism, which works similar to the process of inserting a bit in my drill. You will have to pull the outer piece out to allow the head of the leash snap inside. Once connected, you will detach using the same process. This is a huge safety benefit and functional advantage. The leash length is adjustable, which is great because I didn’t want to give my dog too much slack to sprint and pull me along! Her cooperation and understanding of boundaries and behavior has been actually been way better than I expected. It can also be used as a regular handle, the wand is covered with a spongy foam rubber cover that makes a great grip. I don’t leave this attached to my bike when not in use, and I have grabbed it a couple of times when I was in a burry to for a walk and it works just fine for that application as well.

Dog loves it
It attaches easily and also detaches easily, it keeps the dogs far enough away that they don’t get close to the tire(avoids injuries) can be installed on either side of the bike(I put it on the right side so my dog can run on the grass boulevard (avoiding stones and hot pavement)this is my second one(for my second dog)
