Faithfull FAIAXEKINDL Kindling Stick Chopper 180mm (7in) Blade

if you've been using a small axe to cut kindling this will be a definite step up! This tool plus a club hammer makes easy work of splitting softwood like pine. The chopper itself seems to be made of fairly cheap, soft metal that dents easily when hit with a hammer but it does what it needs to and it's saved me a lot of time and extra effort. I'm happy with it.

A tool for chopping kindling needs a thick blade and a decent weight, which this tool has. Unlike an axe this is more comparable to a splitting maul, which forces the grain apart rather than cutting. This does a good job and is reasonably comfortable to hold. The quality could be better but at this price who is complaining

Very handy for spliting wood for tinder, but could be sharper

As per other reviews, the quality of workmanship of this is not high. The "blade" of mine wasn't even ground uniformly. However, it was cheap and pretty much as expected after reading the other reviews. I considered grinding a proper edge but just gave it a go anyway. I sawed pallet planks into the length I wanted for kindling then the chopper did do a good job of splitting them into pieces. That's partly due to it having a good weight. UPDATE: I've added a picture after a bit more use. It won't be long before the handle snaps, just as others have found. I've switched to using a hatchet which is far superior. I agree with a previous reviewer, I wish I had not bought this, cheap as it was.

A perfect tool to chop kindling. The box was not at all well packed, the blade was sticking out of the box, and I didn't need to open the box to get this out, it easily pulled through the hole in the box. I'm surprised it was in the box at all, it could have easily just come through the hole and be 'lost'.

Great tool superb for kindling.

At first it seemed perfect for splitting up small pieces of kindling in the fireplace however when I tried to split a very small log it snapped in two. I have since purchased a small axe.

The weight of the item just cuts through the timber in the grain.Didn’t think because of the price it would be as good but it isLovely small (axe like) splitter great hand tool, don’t hesitate.
