Not as advertised/
I already had one Durapet bowl and it was great. The pack I ordered did not look anything like the picture or my original bowl. The steel is thinner, the lip is not as wide, the rubber covers only the outside of the bottom (not the entire bottom) and is crumbling around the edges. Rather than the blue sticker around the outside of the bowl, there is a sticker in the center of the bowl that says "Our Pets" at the top and "Durapet premium stainless steel" in smaller letters below that. Also the sticker on the bottom states this holds one cup and 1 cup = 8 oz, not 12 oz. They either changed this product was manufacturered or this is a rip-off, but either way I did not get what I ordered.

Perfect Cat Food Dish
I love these food dishes. I recently adopted a cat and was going to use the saucers (human dishes) that I had tucked away from my last cat, who was a girl. But this cat is a boy and I was told hat it's especially important to make sure boys get enough water. So I started adding water to the canned food, turning it into a bit of a stew. Stew doesn't stay on saucers very well, and when my cat started eating, he'd slop it all over the place. Fish stew all over the floors is not only messy, but stinky too! So I found these dishes and have been using them. I have a dozen at this point. They're the perfect size and have the right depth to keep in the stew, but aren't so deep that it makes it hard for the cat to eat. I've been putting them in the dishwasher and have had no problems whatsoever. If the dishes I have wear out, I'll be coming back for more. Highly recommend.

Great product, great value
These are great little bowls! The perfect size, very easy to clean, and they come in a two-pack which works for my two cats. I was looking for something to replace ceramic bowls that were just beginning to crack and chip. With these, I don’t have to worry about cracking and other potential causes of skin irritation. Their depth is a comfortable one in terms of the cats’ access to the food, and the rubberized bottom keeps them in place -- no slipping around the floor no matter how enthusiastically my cats attack their meal. These provide much more value, and a healthier eating environment, than bowls many times their cost.

Two great 8 oz Durapet bowls
I love these bowls... I have them in 8 oz and 16 oz. These are the 8 oz.; they hold a can of Fancy Feast wet food perfectly, and would hold a larger can as well. I used to purchase Durapet stainless steel bowls from the pet supply, and collected some slightly different styles over the years, but these are definitely the real deal and stack beautifully with the ones I already own. (I also own a few of the 16 oz bowls that I use for my cats' dry food.) The bowls don't slide around on the slick oilcloth mat I use underneath them, look attractive, and don't interfere with eating the way the deeper bowls used to. Very high quality. I have about 12 of these, and wash them in the dishwasher top rack. They are the dimensions listed in the ad, but I don't know why they say they are 12 oz bowls (I have never seen an actual 12 oz bowl from this brand). These hold 8 oz of water perfectly; maybe they hold 12 oz of dry food? Not sure why the discrepancy, but I love them, and the price of $11 and change for two is a much better deal than buying them individually at Petco. I hope this helps clear up the confusion!

Great EIGHT OUNCE (ONE CUP) bowls after you wash the weird smell off them!
As other reviewers have noted, they are labeled "1 Cup", not 12 oz. Since everyone uses different food, I poured a cup of water into the dish to see how much would fit. It fit exactly. Not 12 ounces. They are 8 ounces. One cup. Also, as noted in another review they came out of the package smelling HORRENDOUS as if they had been nested in those tree-shaped air fresheners for a decade, or perhaps scented urinal cakes. It's a weird, chemical fruity citrus scent. I have purchased other things from one of the dollar stores that smelled just like this, so I think it's related to the warehouses or something. I will wash them and would have done so, anyway. There is a label inside the bowl where you'd put the food, but I had no trouble removing it - it came off whole.I had no problem with the rubber on the bottom crumbling or any other manufacturing defect. These match my other dishes, and they fit plenty of the soft food I sometimes feed my cats. Unless you're feeding a mountain lion, they are fine for soft food. If you need them for dry food, they should be fine for under a cup. They don't skid, they don't break, they don't cause chin acne, they don't bother long whiskers. They nest, they are basically non-stick and easy to clean. They lost points for the incorrect description (size matters, people) and the disgusting smell from the warehouse. Other than that, if they were cheaper, I would buy more of them.

Great for cats. Rubber will eventually disintegrate.
Great cat dishes that don't slide around on the floor. The cats like the low sides. They will last for years before the rubber starts to disintegrate (and it will eventually start to disintegrate even if you hand wash them as we do.) The stainless steel is much more sanitary and healthy (no nasty plastic chemicals) for our cats. We don't use plastic at all anymore (neither for food nor water dishes.)

These are average quality stainless steel bowls...
I ordered both of these 12 oz bowls and 16 oz bowls. I prefer the 12 oz bowls for both cats and small dogs. It holds the right amount of food per serving, and it's easier to hold and clean. The 12 oz bowl holds about 1 cup of dry food, and the 16 oz bowl holds about 2 cups of dry food. The bowls are wide, flat, and lightweight. The rubber bottom helps prevent against sliding, and it's easy to stick on top of raised feeders. The 12 oz is perfect size because I feed twice a day, so it holds the right amount of kibble and wet food. I have used ceramic bowls for a while, but I have went back to using stainless steel bowls because it's easy to clean and lasts a long time. The quality is not as good as the bowls made about 10 years ago, which were more heavy duty steel. If you're looking for high quality stainless steel bowls, made without harmful chemicals, check out Americat bowls and Basis bowls for both cats and dogs, both also sold here on Amazon.
