They say (unverified) that scotch 371 is the most popular packing tape in the country. My wife and I have worked with a number of different tapes, and we can honestly say that this 3850 tape is awesome. Before trying this tape most will find that 371 (or generic versions equivalent to 371) seem adequate. However, once you try this tape, you will probably be spoiled and not want to go back to anything else. It is so much sturdier and easier to work with. There are less accidental tears, less twisting, and you can tell that your package is more secure (great for piece of mind when you are shipping something heavy or expensive). I know it's a little more expensive than 371 (or equivalents), but the difference in quality are night and day. My wife does the majority of our business shipping, and I think if we went back to using scotch 371 to save a few bucks she may divorce me. Give scotch 3850 a try!

I ship thousands of packages a year and before I found this tape I would often double tape on heavy items. This is the strongest plastic tape there is. Stronger tapes exist in both paper-fabric and plastic fabric but paper-fabric requires an expensive machine and plastic fabric is just messy and looks bad and it's only 1" wide.If you want a tape you can trust, get this tape.

I can't live without packing tape and it was a bonus this came with a dispenser!! the quality is SOOOOO much better than the expensive stuff the USPS sells and worth the investment of a dozen if you use it more than once a week, as i do. and i'm not even an online seller! my kids use it half the time for art projects!

Good, strong backing. Adhesive is good when tape is fresh, but does not age well. Don't buy more than a couple of months supply.

Bought 8 packages when it was on sale for my stocking room. I just opened the box after 3 months, but the tape is non-sticky at all. Tested two rolls, same bad quality. I need to pay the shipping myself for this heavy big package, even don't know it is refundable since the order is already expire.

Works great, heavy duty so no worries about it breaking with heavy packages. Came with a very nice heavy duty dispenser as well.

I have been in the fine art transportation, installation, and packing business for 20 years. Hands down Scotch 3850 is my preferred tape.The negative reviews on this tape astound me, there is no way they were using 3850. My local cardboard and paper company does notstock it, and the tape they do stock performs like the negative reviews.I will say it one more time 3850 is the best tape around, it adheres to cardboard perfectly and the thickness lets you finish all your tape runswithout so much as a wrinkle. Easy to produce professional looking boxes and packages. It is also the strongest non filament tape I have used.All this is pretty important when I pack things that cost more than I will earn in 10 years on a regular basis.

Terrible stuff. Sent back six rolls. Fails to stick to carboard boxes. May be thick but needs to stick.
