TRIZ For Dummies

I recently heard about TRIZ and was anxious to learn more, so I can develop a wider array of problem solving tools to use with colleagues. This seemed like a good way to start. I found the book quite helpful. As a social scientist, not an engineer, I was looking for something with enough technical commentary but not heavy on the quantitative side (more my colleagues' issue...). I like the book but found it repetitive in many places. I would recommend it as a good place to start.

Excellent book for beginners. Covers all of the major concepts and tools.

Great resource. kept it simple but still with the right amount of details and examples to get a solid understanding of the concepts. Was a bit repetitive but overall good value.

The problem with TRIZ (to me) is that at times the principles could be to abstract, this book solved it. It presents TRIZ as it should be, in that its abstract enough to drive anologies and be creative but grounded enough to be useful. My attempt with this book was to search for ways in which TRIZ can complement the Theory of Constraint.

I've learned a lot by this book. The ORIGINAL TRIZ book is so technical that my friend who has a Ph.D. in physics even struggled to understand it. This book puts everything in non-technical terms so everyone can understand it.

This is a manual not a boot. It’s a must to have at home you cannot read it once you need to have it everyone must read it.

I really love this book, I have three on TRIZ and this is the best

Should be mandatory reading for all engineering students and all working engineers. TRIZ provides a really interesting set of steps for solving engineering problems - all engineering problems! There are lots of examples and case history material. it is an interesting read even if you are not trying to solve an engineering problem. There is a paradox in the fact that TRIZ suggests a structured way of examining the problem and identifying possible solutions but at the same time inspires new imaginative thinking. TRIZ-trained engineers were asked to solve the problem of the door between the cockpit and the cabin in passenger airliners - how to prevent hijackers getting access and allowing the crew. One solution - no door!

Great Book. Easy to understand, exciting and really fun!
