ZK4253 Original Chinrest for Violin 4/4, Hamburg Ebony with Closed Style Brackets,brown

I opened the package and it came in a fancy little box. The quality is very nice. The only problem is that it was quite difficult to screw on. It took me a while, but other than that it is amazing!

Got this for my student to replace her small/weirdly shaped chin rest. She likes it much better! Pretty standard, but good quality. Thicker cork padding than I'm used to, which is also a plus.

A huge disappointment, the metal screw "things" that you turn and turn to attach to your violin are supposed to be easy to turn, but these take great effort to turn because they don't line up properly and I had to use force, but I finally attached the chinrest to my violin. (Such force was needed that I scraped my violin with the little tool you use to turn the metal sides, which are supposed to be parallel, but somehow do not quite line up.) I have tried so many chinrests in my decades of playing/teaching, and they are supposed to be easy to put on and off. I have never had this trouble.So, I told Amazon and they kindly sent me another one. When I tried that one, SAME THING, the screws don't line up and are stuck-they don't want to turn. Something is wrong with the metal attachment parts, in my opinion. The wooden chinrest part is beautiful. I hope they fix this problem, then I would give them 5 stars.

I have been using this chin rest for 3 years. It's very comfortable.Please don't listen to other reviews. It's tricky to put on and the tool is not included. It took me 15 minutes until I had those screws figured out. If you have issues go to a luthier he/she is more than happy to put it on for you.

No Instructions. Disassembled when received. Sleeves Bottom out. Finally had an engineer friend tinker with it for 2 hours. Finally got it to go on violin. Try another one.

The screw is faulty and I couldn’t instalIt ! I have changed at least ten chinrest in my life and never came across such a problem.Don’t buy it if you don’t want to waste your money

The Goetz family has been in the violin trade for centuries. The Goetz chinrests are made of the highest quality materials and exhibit precise workmanship. They obviously take pride in what they make, and these chinrests are reasonably priced and represent an outstanding value.The Hamburg rest is quite comfortable to play and my favorite shape. A really flat rest with little curve does not provide enough support, and excessively high or curved rests can be restrictive. The Hamburg gives me just the right amount of support and freedom.

The chin rest is superb. Very comfortable and very well made. It's not like the cheap Chinese junk. I would buy from them again and highly recommend them.
