An Interesting, Useful, and Well-Written Book for Anyone
This book is one of the very few textbooks in international social work for college students. However, it also is an interesting, readable and well-written resource for anyone who is intent on bettering the lives of those less fortunate. The book presents reliable facts and figures which focus on the welfare of children, victims of war and conflict, people suffering from AIDS and issues affecting women. However, the author does not only present problems, she also offers solutions to the concerned individual at the end of each chapter in the section, "What You Can Do Now", as well as a list of organizations that meet specific needs.Social justice is the responsibility of all. Each of us can assist others to have clean drinking water, adequate food, safe shelter, education and health services. This book points the way.
