Pilgrim Stories

When my children were young, in the 1980s, we read these stories every Thanksgiving season from a copy of the original book. When my son asked if he could borrow the book to read to his children this Thanksgiving, I hesitated because I have two children and wanted each to have a copy. When I found an original 1910 text, I was thrilled. Even after ordering it, I did not expect the mint quality of the book. Now both of my children are able to pass on to their children not only the tradition from their childhood, but the marvelous historical heritage of our country's first settlers. Thank you so much!

This is a fantastic book about the pilgrims! Though written in story form, it is full of valuable information about their struggles, perspective, joys, motivation, relationships, grief, gratitude, and perseverance within the context of the world in which they lived. This book was very helpful in making the pilgrims and their lives relatable to my class. A must read...both for elementary students and as a family read-aloud!

Totally love this book and loan it out to others to love as well. Margaret Pumphrey was writing in the early 1900s at the child's level. She brings out each story from a child's perspective when possible...actual children living at the time. Her writing style is conversationally engaging, yet professional. My children beg for more!

Book was in great condition when we received it.

We love this book. Ms. Pumphrey writes beautifully. You can really get a sense of what it was like and feel the emotion. My 7 year old son is enjoying this also.

My children and I really enjoyed learning more about the pilgrims in this book. It is a great addition to our home library.
