Great hiking sock liners
I am an avid hiker and use these socks for underneath my wool socks. They keep my feet dry and wick away sweat in the summer. In the winter, the extra layer is welcome. Plus, they help prevent blisters. These pairs were purchased as replacements after years and years of hiking wore out the other pairs.

Superb quality
Received more than I expected. Ordered three packs and I thought I was going to receive three pairs, to my surprise, each pack contained 3 pairs. These thermal socks are very comfortable and warm even on their own. They are very well made and fit well unlike some "tube socks" they resist abrasion and holes and last a long time. It isn't my first pair. Anyone who needs to use two pairs of socks couldn't do better than with these FoxRivers. They are worth every penny.

Excellent Winter Sock/Liner
I work outside at a ski resort in New Hampshire. Cold and snowy. This weekend we had -18F temps (incl wind chill) and I've struggled to find the right sock/boot configuration to get me through the challenging cold. My boots became a major problem, with the upper pulling away from the sole prematurely (tried to get the "outdoor" clothing brand from Maine to give me some credit toward new boots, but they determined I should seek out their competition. Done. New boots. Today with temps below zero (without the wind chill factored) I put on the new boots coupled with these awesome liners/socks. I've used these Fox River liners with other socks attempting to mask the impact of the deteriorating boots, but by themselves, with the right boots they are the absolute right combo. I walked 5 miles on a frozen lake today, just these ultra-light liners in my boots. Zen moment. I can survive the worst winter can through at me vis-a-vis temperatures. Had great hope for these liners. They didn't disappoint.

Good liner, plan to buy more
I originally bought these as a gift for a friend who works outside a lot, but my son was going hunting and his feet always get too cold so I gave them to him to put on. He's a young teenager so it took coercing but he wore them. I was amazed that they went on his feet so easy - his feet are very wide and it's always difficult getting socks and shoes for him. He wears an 11-1/2 4E shoe, sometimes 5E, and the Large 11-13 Liners went on easily, the heel was in the right place and not up the back of his ankle like some larger socks I buy him.He wore them the first morning and when I asked how they were all he'd say is "they're fine". But the next morning I watched him put them on again sooooooo they had to be worth it :) After the second day hunting he said they definitely kept his feet warm. I know that's not a ton of feedback but for my teen that's the equivalent of jumping up and down with pom poms.So - they keep feet warm, they're true to size; and if you have wide or large feet, the Large is going to fit.The friend I had bought them for wears only a 9-1/2, I had bought Large because other insulated socks came in so small; but now I know I can just order a Medium for him - I'm going to do that now! He has trouble with circulation and his feet and toes are always cold even in the spring and fall; so I think the liners will be helpful to him even then.

Extremely Comfortable
Great comfort. Good quality construction. At $6 they were a good buy. But now they're around $10 - just manageable.

better than cotton or silk
At Boy Scout meetings, our chain-smoking scoutmaster would lecture us about how we’d end up in the state pen. I wish he'd had time to talk about socks. My wool socks were warm until I started walking. Then my feet would get wet and cold.Years later, I got hold of a Boy Scout Handbook. The Marines published a similar handbook with the same advice: wear dress socks under boot socks. Soles sweat in response to friction. A bit of moisture can keep bare feet from slipping, but inside shoes, less friction means less moisture buildup.Socks suitable for liners used to be cotton or silk. They required about 15% elastic. When the elastic deteriorated, they wouldn’t stay up. That's why I quit wearing them in the past. These Fox River socks have only 1% elastic. Maybe that means that the polyester-nylon knit is springy enough to keep them up after the elastic deteriorates.

Great Sox to help keep feet dry !
Socks are very thin and light weight.. they help with Folks who suffer damp sweaty feet in the winter. My toes used to be uncomfortable and get cold due to winter and damp feet ( perspiration) These socks help me to keep toes warm and wick the moisture !I like them very much, even though they seem a little over priced if you ask me.

Did not last through one weekend of hiking
These liner socks developed holes after only about three days of hiking; can't say I felt any difference in moisture either.
