Im not a fan of Osborne 's manner of delivering info...she has unusual organization in which multiple secondary subjects string along an entire book, yet I prefer to compartmentalize info. She left out Togo another dog hero of the 1st Iditarod delivery of lifesaving serum. Wish we coukd have read a tiny bit about the Northern Lights, but nothing. The perspective on extreme sports was uncommon so we welcomed. Grammar in the book is standard and there are no glaring flaws. This was used for a 2nd graders non fiction book report; thankfully it keep his attention, he was able to read it aloud himself for background while we worked and he earned a good grade on his report.

Great reading for younger kids. Also, good to use as reading before bedtime for all children.

My 9 year old loves these, but won't read the original magic treehouse series. Go figure!

My son, who is seven, loves this book. Challenging and informative.

I like this book, because my favorite animals are dogs, cheetahs, and ostriches. Dogsledding is harder than you think it is. Diana Nyad, a swimmer swam for almost fifty-four hours without stopping.

Love the well-researched information and how it's presented in these books.

My son says that this book was very informative on the subject of extreme sports. Only a small portion of the book was dedicated to dogsledding, and the rest was about other extreme sports and the people who are famous for their involvement in them.
