Randomly shuts down and refuses to record once it does
Well, here we go again! I recently returned an 0805 dashcam for similar issues, now this one seems to do the same thing! After a good 10+ days of mostly short trips (less than a half hour each), this unit plays its little shut down chime and its done for recording! Because I wasn't sure about the type of card the last model wanted, I decided to just use the 8gb card that this model came with, just so I can make absolutely sure its not one of my cards that is confusing the camera!I'm convinced it is a heat-related issue now, and not power nor too large/fast of an sd card. I have had to drive around with the a/c on and in defrost mode to get the cold air to the camera to keep it from overheating. That seems to allow the unit to run longer, but not today! Even with it on, the unit would turn on, then shut down within 3 or 4 minutes. The unit is warm, but not hot to the touch. Furthermore, I have window tint on my windshield (Llumar's Air Blue 80 ceramic film, its MUCH cooler in the vehicle with this stuff on the windshield, can't imagine what this camera would do without the film!), so its about as cool as it can be for Idaho's summer heat. Sadly, it hasn't been that hot this year, and I don't even park outside when this issue happens, so this problem will only get worse.I'm letting the camera cool down in my living room and will see how it does in a few hours, I'll update this review with my findings.I was really hoping this unit would just work properly for me, as it has a very small footprint on the windshield and has some great features, but if its not reliable, its pointless to keep this dashcam.Update: So the cooling down period never helped any, the dashcam continued to exhibit the same overheating issues, and I sent it back to Amazon.I then bought a Blackvue DR650GW-1CH dashcam and have had absolutely NO issues whatsoever with that unit! I've even replaced the card with one of the 64gb cards I used in this (and the 0805 model too) and its working fine with no overheating and perfect vids.Interestingly enough, I also have a VERY cheap dashcam (a Novatek G1W-C) in the wife's van, and that model has been running perfectly for the last 2 months! So, while it would be easy to state that all cheap dashcams are unreliable, that is, in fact, untrue! It just seems that the Adashine models (and their variants?) seem to be of poor quality. Too bad, because they have most every function that I'd like to see in a dashcam, but again, if it doesn't work flawlessly, its not really a useful piece of equipment.

Hopeful.
Prior 0801 and 0803 didn't survive a year apiece. This one makes great images. But then, they all have. Only time will tell if it survives.

Spend your money on a better quality product
Same as the other 1 star reviews, DO NOT buy this product. It worked ok for a few months, now it shuts down and randomly powers off. Spend your money on a better quality product.

Do not buy this low quality product!
Do not waste your money! Low quality product. It fails after a month and causes radio interference with bmw's. Try Thinkware F50 at bestbuy, which is a much better product for the same price.
