Not a bad machine . . . . But support/upkeep can be a big problem.
About three months ago I bought this unit as a second and backup autoclave for my dental office. Using it is not too bad and the machine itself is pretty good so far, the only complaint being that it is a big loud when discarding it's distilled water input and the water must be drained safely into a sink since it is red hot when disgorged. Otherwise, build seems good and haven't had a problem with it.My complaint stems from the undisclosed nature of the upkeep for this machine. The normal stuff like monthly cleanings and upkeep I can handle, but what the manufacturer doesn't tell you is that you need to replace an air filter every month to protect a VPSF valve in the top left corner in the back of the machine. The filter itself is a small, cheap piece of ware . . . But only Brazil and Mexico sells them. Contacting cristofoli in Brazil revealed that while the filters are just $1 a piece, shipping is $120 plus for a dozen filters. So, for a $800 machine (I got mine on eBay), you be the judge on whether it's worthwhile to do so.Personally, I just stuck a couple of pin holes in the filter and continue using the unit. So it's fine, and I will probably ride the unit as long as I can until it breaks down and get a new autoclave with better support. The maker really should have been more straightforward about the filter requirement as that would have factored into my planning.
