Vacuum-formed plastic!
Atrocious value and quality. I expected that it would at least be airtight. You might as well buy the refill pack of liners and paper and put it in a Ferrero Rocher box, which would at least be airtight an would be better quality plastic - it would also have a classier feeling to it. Very, very disappointed.

A Little Large for Mini Painters but Still a Great Product!
I have searched far and wide for a good Wet Palette, I have made DIY wet palettes and bought expensive supposed everlasting wet palettes and I have never been completely happy with them. Until now, I use a WP for painting miniature figures for Warhammer 40k so the Frisk WP is a bit on the large side however after receiving it I put it to use and found it was the best WP I have ever used. At the price you'd daft not to give it a try. Okay this isn't made of the highest quality plastic and I doubt it would take a lot to break it, it doesn't come with a sponge but rather uses blotting paper but it works and the parchment paper is great, you can mix on it without the paper breaking down as some expensive brands do and it keeps your paint wet. Actually after getting used to the larger working surface I prefer it to smaller palettes! Surprisingly the blotting paper works well but you can easily replace this with a sponge and/or kitchen roll if you prefer! The replacement paper is affordable too.

Make the most of your paints!
I have been using for painting miniatures and this has been a fantastic and works excellently. Effectively it keeps the paint wet so that you can easily mix a batch and it stays usable for much longer. If you are blending the paints, then it means that you don't have to keep mixing the blend and potentially getting a different mix. It is also useful for watering down paints to make sure you get good thin coats and it means that you end up using a lot less paint.Fully recommended!

very flimsy and cheap, but does the job
This is a wet palette, and it works as described, so I have to give it something, but for £12 it really is made of very poor materials - the plastic is incredibly flimsy and it has no *comfortable* place to hold it due to sharp, raspy edges, and it quite bendy, so you wouldn't want to paint with it while standing. It is not watertight, and feels like it will break due to the brittle plastic. The closest example of the material I can give is that white plastic cutlery you get from the chip shop. The main thing you are buying is the paper - the "membrane paper" is essentially baking paper, but the other "keep wet paper" appears to just be some quite soft, high GSM watercolour paper, which can be expensive on its own - but it is not a sponge or anything like that.overall I would probably not recommend this product for the price. if it was £5 or £8 or something, perhaps. It makes it convenient to get all the bits in one place, but tbh you can go to your local supermarket, buy a tuppeware, a sponge and some parchment paper for about 1/4 of the price, and get a better product.

User-friendly and robust
I'm really impressed with this item. I wanted a palette for watercolour (not acrylic) that had several separated 'spaces' for different colours to be mixed, and that wasn't so 'shiny' (eg, metal) that the paint just beaded up and wouldn't spread out. This excells on all counts. It has 18 small indents for a range of colours, and 3 large 'spaces' for mixing. There is an internal perpex tray in the lid (easy to lift out for cleaning) and both this perpex tray and the two spaces in the paint tray are perfect for mixing watercolour on: the paint does not bead or roll off, but equally it wipes off quickly if you need to change colours. I didn't care about the air-tight seal when I bought it but I'm a convert now. When I close it up, most of the watercolour paint 'blobs' in the indents don't entirely dry out, making it easier to continue painting the next day. I haven't tried carrying it around when it has a lot of wet paint still in the central 'spaces' but it closes so firmly that I don't think it would leak. It's also light to carry. I'm really pleased with this palette - the plastic is robust, not cheap and brittle, and I'm seriously considering buying a second for reserve. Please note - this review was for WATERCOLOUR use, not acrylic.
