Great Tire
This is a great bike tire. Easy to install. Lots of tread that was great for biking in the Ozarks. The shipping was fast and great value.

Incredible traction, heavy duty construction!
I run all mountain trails in PA, with lots of roots, loose rocks, larger rocks, and wet soil. The Continental X-Kings that my bike came with had constant issues with breaking traction, causing wrecks that really shouldn't have happened. They also were very prone to pinch flats. Nothing sucks more than sitting on the side of a trail 3 miles into state gameland changing blown tube as the sunlight begins to fade - except maybe the time my front end broke traction in a fast turn, causing me to wipe out and damage my front brake lever... When i received the DHR II and opened the box, i was instantly blown away by how much thicker and more durable the construction of this tire was, as compared the the Conti, whose sidewall feels like paper compared to the DHR II. Mounting the tire on my 29" rim was a piece of cake. I wanted to get out on the trail right away, so i didn't have time to convert it to tubeless, but i plan to. I knew i was in for a treat, just by running my hand over this tire. The compound is sticky and the tread is aggressive. An hour later, i was on the trail, and man did this tire perform! I shredded those rocky uphills without once breaking traction, and kept the rear stable and predictable on the downhills and turns. Braking could not possibly get any better - the tire digs in and gives great control on the downhills. I can't wait to get the DHF for the front, so i can hit the turns fast without my front end getting loose on me. If you're counting ounces on your bike, this is not the tire for you. If you want durability and maximum traction in rough terrain, stop shopping and buy this tire!! This is so far the most profound upgrade i have done to my bike.

A good tire
I like Maxxis tires and run them almost exclusively on my wife’s and my bikes. I bought this one to replace a rear tire on my wife’s bike. We have this tire on one of our mountain bike tandems. They are durable and grip well in most conditions.

People think this is only a rear tire.
I bought a bike with these OEM spec’ed rear and front. Game changer. Lighter with less rolling resistance than the Assegai, more grip than the DHF. My current trail setup is 2.3 High Roller II rear, 2.4 DHR front.

Whew! The correct version arrived
After reading many reviews about this tire I was very worried that the wrong one would be delivered. Despite what the photos for seemingly every Minion DHR tire on Amazon shows, I did receive a 27 x 2.4” 3C MaxTerra tire, NOT the MaxGrip version shown in every product photo. Also, many reviewers said they mistakenly received a 2.3” width rather than the wider tire they ordered. I was nervous about what I’d receive because I definitely wanted the MaxTerra after reading up about the terms on the Maxxis site. I received exactly what I wanted and am pumped to ride it now! This is my 2nd Minion DHR. I’ve been very happy with the traction and tread life of this tire, though I definitely notice a cliff drop in the traction at a certain point. I ride a couple times per week, in very dry, rocky terrain here in Colorado. I don’t keep track of my miles but my first Minion DHR lasted all of last season, roughly April through early December. I'd guess I've put at least 300 miles on the tire so far. I’m still riding that tire but its days are numbered. Probably just a few weeks until I put this new one on then I expect to be set until next season.

Good grip
My husband was having issues with his tires then he got these and loves them. They have a great grip and he’s doesn’t slip and fall nearest match. Actually, he hasn’t fallen at all since he’s gotten these tires.

Great tire!
Got it timely and just in time for my race. You cannot go wrong with the Maxxis and the Minions!

Good tire
Replaced the stock tires on my Trek mountain bike with Maxxis Minion respective front/rear type. The stock tires were probably ok for packed dirt trail or a dirt road. They would slide off roots or rocks in the woods though and any amount of incline with loose material would spin out trying to pedal. If it had rained recently and there was any moisture to anything may as well have been riding slicks on a patch of ice. The Maxxis Minions in comparison track like you're riding on rails. Absorb shock better, conform to rocks and roots and grip them better with less chance of sliding off and out from under you. Loose material or wet dirt they dig in and find something to provide traction on. With these tires I can actually find mountain biking enjoyable now.

DHR 2
Easy fit. Straight on and immediately inflated. Rolling resistance better than expected. Excellent hill climbing ability even on wet grass and sloppy mud. Braking control inspires confidence on steep broken up descents. Very good tyre!

The only concern I had was that where the wire is that goes along the rim where the tyre was shipped folded it broke through the rubber slightly Other than that it was great
