Puracyn gel is a wonderful product!
Sometimes you need a gel for a wound to make it stick. I've used Puracyn for years and will always have it. It is a cure-all for most any wounds, itches, scraps, rash, infection etc.

Gel-ish liquid - fragrance free.
Gave this a try on a few different skin rashes and even some bites and scratches, and it didn't do anything to relieve itching, or help the rashes improve. Hypochlorous acid can have antimicrobial effects, so I figured this would help kill bacteria, fungus and other crud on the skin, so even though I may not get the results I was looking/hoping for. But without any results I have to wonder if the Hypochlorous content is still active in this product? And I have no idea what might be considered a pain relief ingredient in this product, as I don't see anything listed that I've come to know as a pain reliever - herb, oil or otherwise. Wouldn't recommend this based on my experiences with this.

This works wonders! It just takes about 5 minutes to work.
I wish I had not been the human test subject to try it out on, but it gave me relief.I was in week 3 of scratching and itching like crazy from a minor chemical burn. I had tried just about everything available over the counter. The next move was to go to the doctor where I knew it would be treated with steroids. I really hate the side effects of steroids. So, when I saw this, I jumped at the chance to give it a try. When I first put it on, I did not notice a difference. It still itched like crazy. I was disappointed. Then, about 5 minutes later, I noticed I was not itching nearly as much. It wasn’t a complete cure, but it let me sleep instead of scratching and itching all night. And, it soothed the itch enough that I no longer wanted to claw my skin off. After about 2 days, I was no longer itching and was on my way to healing. This earned a permanent spot in my medicine cabinet. My only complaint is that the application directions are written in such a tiny font, that only a superhuman could read them. I have 20/20 vision and I still could not read them even when using a magnifying glass. It needs directions that humans can read!

It's worth it...
This stuff is heaven sent to me. I'm itchy quite often and I HATE being itchy. I'd rather be in pain than be itchy. The manufacturer refers to this as a hydrogel. Which made me anticipate something thick like hair gel. But this is not thick. It's more like a cross btwn a serum & a gel.Its easy to apply to large areas thanks to its viscosity..A little goes a long way so dont dispense a lot all at once. It feels sticky for at least a few min. after applying but, trust me, just wait it out. It will dry down and the relief is worth it.You can also add this to a lotion or cream that you already own.I usually use hydrocortisone cream but it doesn't do nearly as good a job as this does to put a stop to my itchy skin. I'd highly recommend this. Especially if you're like me....I scratch myself to the point where I end up black & blue.I know it's more expensive than pretty much everything out there for itchy skin but there is no comparison to the relief I get from this. When I'm out, I'll return for more. I hope my humble opinion helps you in some way.Thank you for reading.

Safe for Animals, Too
Puracyn Skin Therapy Hydrogel gently works to relieve itching. It's expensive, but happily, a little goes a very long way. My husband and I both use it on itchy spots on our skin; it's great for dry itchy spots because you can add it to lotion, too. We also use it on mosquito bites. One of our cats will gnaw on the skin above his tail if a single flea gets loose in the house. I usually use a hydrocortisone spray. He hates it and I hate that he licks it, even though it's formulated for cats. He recently started getting that itchy spot again and after I treated him with Frontline, I dabbed Puracyn on his itchy spot. It worked well -- at least as well as hydrocortisone spray. It's safe to ingest and he was over his problem in a day. Recommended.

Worth Every Penny! 😊😊😊😊😊
Hydrogel is in the medical journals for acute and chronic wounds. I love it. I have a rare autoimmune skin disease that causes extreme itchy places all over my body. When you skin them, they become itchy nodules that make you want to cry. When they dry out, they are itchy again, you are supposed, but how do you scratch them? Then they bleed and become dry, and they get worse- up to the point where people sometimes are required to get skin graphs.By keep the original wound moist the nodules start to heal!!! I am going to make Puracyn a part of my wound healing plan. When it runs, out, now I know what to buy!!! 😊

Works But With Some Caveats
The older I get, the drier my feet become. It results in an itchy feel that’s always worse at night. I’ve tried creams, and they help, but the heavy consistency feels too uncomfortably greasy between sheets. I was hoping this might relieve the itching without adding that oily feel. It does do that, but I feel like I have to use twice as much to get the same relief that creams provide. This is only 3 oz, so the liquid won’t last long, and its cost is certainly more than creams made specifically for calming skin. I’ve compensated by only applying to areas where itching feels the worst on my feet, but that’s not an ideal solution. Maybe this hydrogel wasn’t intended for such large areas as feet—it does seem to control itchiness though. Perhaps I’ll do as the product description recommends—use it in conjunction with a lighter lotion. Still, I’d rather order just one product that gets the job done without having to add another. Perhaps best suited for those with small skin area irritations.
