Années de Pèlerinage, Complete (Dover Classical Piano Music)

It's my first book with Dover Publications. Some people recomended me. It is very important that the preface in the translation has been maintained, and at the same time it is good to know Liszt's notes regarding some of his works. On the other hand, I think it is one of the only editions where you can find the three books of "Years of Pilgrimage" in one. I will have to get used to the yellowish color of its pages.

These are big pages and they lie flat with very little effort. The font can be small in the pyrotechnical passages but it's Liszt, what do you expect? Some of the plates were fuzzy and those are reproduced as is here. Overall though this is an excellent edition. It took Liszt a lifetime to write these, they're some of his most personal works. I think the binding will last for life which is good because that's how long it'll take me to learn these!

This uses a spartan Russian edition which is sparsely annotated and footnoted. Would have been nice to include the many literary quotations attached to pieces in this collection (Vallee d'Obermann, the Petrarch sonnets, even the biblical quote in "Jeau d'eux a Villa d'Este"). Unlike other editions of these pieces, though, this edition includes the "complete" third year, which are mainly (rarely performed) pieces from Liszt's final years

One of the greatest works for piano solo. Dover edition is an excellent quality reprinting of the Moscow edition.

Has the complete sets of Years of Pilgramage with all supplements. Print is small, but the edition is excellent, and to purchase these pieces separately could cost 10 times the cost of this product.

Perhaps not the best edition out there, but you certainly do get a lot of music on one volume. The typeface is pretty crappy and unsightly, but if you're on a budget, then it's good enough.

I don't really play from this book a lot. The music is not as exciting as his Etudes. I really like his Pastorale in E.

Wonderful edition with a great surprise: this edition is an English translation of Yakov Milshtein's reduction, which is very comprehensive and full of valuable comments, while carefully preserving Liszt's original. Thank you!

Good to have the complete collection of the Annees De Pelerinage available in one volume. Although the print is not as clear as in urtext edition it is still perfectly serviceable and I look forward to using this frequently in preparing for performance of these pieces.

A comorehensive edition of these works.

When I first saw pieces from Franz Lizst, I was shockedBecause most of his pieces are difficult to learn and performed.(Especially those Etudes or Hungarian Rhapsodies) unlessyou are a virtuoso pianists in order to perform well.Until one day, I've heard from one of my music CD, andfound out actually there are some pieces which are idealfor those immediate level of piano players. Then I startto search for the title of the piece and finally I findthis piano book. Not only the pieces are good butalso fit my needs for my piano requirements, thenI decided to get this piano series.I really recommend this book for those who enjoyplaying Franz Lizst piano works and his music. Itcontains most of the masterpiece of him and itis an essential collection for the music library.

La verdad es que Dover es una editorial muy económica y que está muy bien. Posee una serie de apreciaciones en el prefacio que ayudan a ubicarse y profundidar en cada obra. En este caso en particular, el precio es muy, pero que muy bueno. Ya que contiene los dos años de peregrinaje (Italia y Suiza) y otras obras.Repito: excelente libro, excelente edición y buen precio.
