Deep Blue Professional ADB31608 Standard Glass Canopy Set, 16 by 8-Inch

I was looking for a top on my 5.5 gallon Aqueon tank. Wasn't able to find one at any of my local fish stores or pet shops. I saw this one, and picked it because I could get it a day or two earlier than others. I am very glad my impatience paid off. This lid fits perfectly. The clear plastic strip for the back is so much easier to cut to fit around my filter and tubing than the Aqueon brand. Glass is clear. I highly recommend!

This product was 'perfectly' sized for my Tetra 5.5-gallon aquarium. I'm using it to keep Mystery Snails in right now, and it's done a wonderful job of keeping my little guys and gals from escaping, yet still gives them a good source for laying their eggs. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat if I had another aquarium in need of a lid!

A bit difficult to slide the plastic parts on for assembly, but the unit works great. I'm amazed at how little evaporation now leaves the tank in this dry desert air, and the water stays noticeably warmer than my uncovered tank. And yet the fish get plenty of oxygen--even with an internal submersed filter--despite how little room there seems to be for air to get past the lid.

Slightly too wide for the 5.5 gallon tank I bought at my local pet store (not sure of the manufacturer). Took it to a framing and glass shop and they charged me less than $5 to trim it down by a couple of millimeters. The plastic is very difficult to cut and I can't really see why it needs to be. Once it's set up it does its job well though.

Little Bigger then 16"! the opening on the top of my tank is exactly 16" this is like 16 1/8" but making due with it !

Being a small aquarium, it is hard to find a canopy that will fit, but this one worked well. It has 3 sections; two are glass with a plastic connecting them (so you can lift one to access the interior). The third section is plastic which goes in the back and can be cut with scissors to allow space for the filter (I have a Marineland 100).

There are a lot of comments about this product and other products concerning which tanks are supported. I have a 5.5 tank from Petsmart and this cover fit perfectly. I turned my aquarium into a terrarium with the canopy.

Fits perfectly! Even has a little slot where the heating cord can run through!
