If you've wondered about earlier archery technology evolution, this an opportunity to test drive archery history. My purpose for these is truth vs. myth play. These points are machined SS. SS was barely in production in the 19th century. Compared to ancient forged steel hardness, SS is an inexpensive, realistic replacement for high-carbon forged steel. The four-sided, weighty broadhead similar to this version appears from Roman, later Eastern Empire vs. Persian battle sites through the 8th century. The purpose was for penetrating increasingly stout chain, scale, and sheet armor. Cataphract cavalry drove the development of this heavier armor-piercing technology. You will see this style in Roman throwing darts ('plumbata'). This configuration is really at home in period Chinese arsenals. By the 8th century, the broadhead had been largely replaced in Western warfare by the sleek bodkin. The bodkin evolved to rule the armored medieval battlefields after the 9th century with its inherent armor-piercing capability. Neither the ancient broadhead nor bodkin is appropriate for modern bowhunting, where far more lethal varieties of 'broadheads' are required.I have a family of bow and crossbow enthusiasts who will be anxious to do something on Xmas afternoon. A hefty armor-piercing medieval-style broadhead is just the kind of Xmas day treat to enjoy targeting the ranch's junk car on the shooting range. I expect the compound bow arrow, especially the 300-some #, 400fps crossbow, to drive the tip through the first car door to bury and dent in the 2nd door.F=ma is the law. This 'massive' point at 226gr must obey Newton. The typical slick, razor blade hunting broadhead is in the 100gr range by comparison. Mass affects range. No matter the pull, a drawn bow delivers fixed newtons. The arrow's accelerated mass precisely burns off its one-time acceleration, reducing speed, range, and force. A 226gr broadhead won't carry. 226gr at 10-25 yards should arrive on target with a wicked but shy of a 160gr .45ACP walloping force.Better than advertised for entertainment. These are not hunting points … unless your target is armored farm animals. The advertised product does not claim to be a modern hunting point. Enjoy! Was this review helpful? Not very sharp, but still usable.
I'd have preferred these to be a lot sharper than they are. As it stands, I'm not really sure what they are good for besides being an alternative to field points for practicing on harder targets. Since this isn't Horizon Zero Dawn where you battle robots made of metal, I don't know why anyone would need to practice on harder targets. I don't want to ruin my arrows like that, but these will chew up your standard archery targets so use caution.Penetration isn't the worse, but I've got field points that are sharper. I had trouble sharpening these with a dremel tool too, so it may not be worth it for you either. These tips have their place, but I would not hunt with these myself. Maybe if you only had field points left and this was your only other tip on hand, but I would fear that the prize might get away without a perfect shot unless you're going after something smaller.

Good product but prepare to sharpen.
Canadian buyer. 4.5 stars from me honestly you can't beat the price it's worth the money you pay for sure. They shoot good, fit good on arrows and you get a cool tin with them. Although it's a product made in china it's pretty good. However they do put the broadheads in the tin loosely instead of sticking them in the foam insert neatly like the example I provided in one of the pictures. Thus they get thrown around during shipping and bent most of the tips/scratched the tips down so you will have to sharpen them. You can see impact marks on the tin in the photo I provided from the Broadheads being loosely placed in the tin. Good thing you can sharpen them back and still get your money worth that's my only complaint really. Just pack them a little better and i'd be giving 5 stars for sure. Another thing I would like to add to New buyers look carefully before you order I didn't realize they had a selection of different size/shape Broadheads so I made a mistake sort of and ordered the X4's thinking they were the only option. All though they aren't as good as the X1's they were fun to try out. You want to go through their inventory and get the X1's believe me when I say this there's a huge difference well waited, larger and they fly beautifully. Once again good product even tho they are made in china apparently. (Has a big made in china sign on the tin but surpassed most made in china archery products by far)

These are toys.
They come blunt as a doorknob, youre gonna have to file or grind an edge onto them, these are useless for hunting and would be horrible practice heads, only reason to get these is for fun, and they do that okay.
