Small hardhat great for shorter women and men
I'm a 5'-2", 100lb, female architect and bought this small hardhat for site visits. The standard size hardhats feel huge and look disproportionate to my body, but these fit just right. I wear them at the tightest setting and they're very easy to adjust on the spot. There's a lot going on during site visits, and I've got no time to waste on fiddling with a hardhat. You can adjust this one while it's on your head. They're slightly padded on the front, they're comfortable and the best part is that they don't slip off my head during site visits. Not to mention that I love having my own hardhat so I don't have to share with the sweaty boys in the office. Great find.

Hard hat and suspension are different sizes
The hard hat is a size small but the suspension is standard so if you’re truly a small it won’t fit right but if that’s not an issue then it’s a great hard hat for work but working 12 hours a day 6 days a week I prefer to have the perfect fit

fits my small head
This is the only one that I know fits my head. My head circumference is 20-1/2". I got the one with the ratcheting mechanism; did not try the other style.

Small hard hat
Fit is ok. It sits high on my head, but better than the medium my company gave me.

crown sits ridiculously high
Got sick of company issued fits-all hard hats I wear only once in a while on job sites, decided to get my own. Have a medium small head (7-1/8) and a normal lid is kind of ridiculously large. This small size seems alright. My gripe is that the top of this thing is a full 4 inches above the top of my head. This is pretty typical of your standard hard hat I'm afraid. But I'm wearing a freaking bishops hat. If it sat lower, it would not get in the way so much and seem so top heavy. They do sell low crown miner's lids but they are more expensive than this one and I can't find a small option. The other option is a lineman's lid that is more like a climbing helmet. May go with somethingh like that.

BEST PURCHASE EVER!
Am I a woman in construction! Why yes I am! My company issues safety wear for us all, but like most construction gear even the hard hat was sized for a 3XXX sized man. So I spend a little of my own money for this small hard hat. I was almost giddy when I found out that MSA started making hard hats in size small. It is so much more comfortable than my other giant hard hats (3M, Bullard, other MSA versions etc.) and still fits all of the standard sized hard hat external accessories (shields/earmuffs etc.) The picture for this product isn't the best (this woman's head is too big for the hard hat she has on). I would recommend this to anyone who has a smaller head size! I wear mine everyday. I did purchase a terry cloth forehead/sweat liner (the internal guts of this hat are plastic--including the forehead part) and in the summer, I don't want sweat rolling down into my face.

It Fits :)
I am 5'2" with a "child's size head." I have purchased hard hats at Lowes', being told that they will adjust smaller...guess what...they still fall off my head. This one, however, I can bend over, look up and move all around at it stays put! I love it! Thank you for adapting the overall size for those of us with smaller heads!
