Despite its modest size, the tambuta has a low, mellow sound without the ringy overtones of other LP udus. This can be good for accompanying singers or when high overtones would interfere with other instruments. And it's fairly loud as udus go. I can do a fair imitation of a conga using the wide top surface for full-handed slaps, but the most fun for me is to play melodies by striking fingers in the area around the central hole. I also like the startling bell-like tone I get hitting the wide snout on the side. It's a cool drum to bring to an acoustic jam.

This drum is not loud at all so there will be no issue with disturbing others during practice. There are pre-drilled holes for setting up internal mics. The combination to different heads, holes and textured surfaces in one small package makes for a fun, versatile and very portable instrument. This drum could appeal to anyone from a casual user who wants to tap out the occasional rhythm to a recording pro. This is a very cost-effective solution for those wanting to dip their toes into the world of percussion. Highly recommended.

I purchased three different clay Udu things and this is the easiest one to play it looks good and sits on a table proper where the others move around and are sorta unwieldy if you play them on a table, which may not be how they are intended to be played. I play mine on a kitchen counter and it looks cool sitting there too, yay

Bellissimo esteticamente ma non ho potuto provarlo e per questo do solo 4 stelle perché è arrivato letteralmente spezzato a metà purtroppo.
