plain rice cake
These came well packaged and with the advertised spoon. I found the (cooked) texture a bit offputting but the flavor is fine, tastes like rice as you'd expect. They're very sticky chewy. The packaging and food quality seems good.

Convenient mochi!
These rice cakes are super convenient. There were no cooking instructions (in English) included, so I searched out cooking instructions online. I cooked them at 400° for about 10 minutes in my air fryer. Each cake has scored lines in it, enabling you to easily break the cakes into 4 smaller pieces. They cook up perfectly crispy on the outside and sticky in the middle. They have no distinguishable flavor, so they pair well with just about anything. I enjoy dipping them in maple cream sauce and eating them alongside my morning coffee. The included spoon is long and lightweight...great for spooning out honey or other toppings for the mochi.

Great quality Mochi
Excellent texture when prepared. I don’t ever find that any kind of mochi has much flavor on its own, but seasoned properly it’s great. We went simple and fried this in a pan with a little grease, wrapped it in sushi seaweed wrap cut to fit and just dipped it in a bit of soy sauce… it was delicious.

Good chew
I made this in my air fryer and it puffed up perfectly with a slightly crunchy outer part with a warm chewy center. I’ve paired this with honey once and salted caramel the second time. These are great and easy to make I would definitely recommend, you can combine it with whatever you like your mochi with. I did get the long spoon which was a great way to eat it.

Endless Flavor Profiles with Good Texture
These are some well made rice cakes, but the preparation can be slightly confusing if you aren't aren't familiar with the process. I personally had to use the Translate app on iPhone to read the instructions on the back of the package. The two primary cooking styles it provides is for using a Toaster Oven or to boil them in water. I chose the Toaster Oven method, but when I cooked them, I didn't notice much of a difference. The rice cakes remained blocky and didn't change much shape, but the outer appearance did become more flaky and the rice cake itself was noticeably softer. When snapping them in half you could definitely smell the rice inside, but the flavor of these rice cakes on their own is just like normal plain rice. However, these rice cakes pair perfectly with endless flavor options from savory spices to sweet glazes, and you can really turn it into whatever snack flavor profile you want. For my test, I used a cinnamon and sugar glaze with a small amount of milk and it was delicious. It gave me a horchata/rice pudding-like taste and the texture was smooth and soft as well. The rice cakes also come with a long stirring spoon which makes these pair nicely with coffee or tea on the side. Overall, these tasted just fine but they are on the smaller side.
