Marvel Absolute Carnage

Absolutely brilliant, a Carnage story that's essentially a continuation of the Venom series
A few things before the review. I am a huge Carnage fan, so I'm a little biased in that context. I also love Donnie Cates's Venom series too, so again I am biased on that front. Take from that what you will. What I will say is that your experience of this book will be greatly enhanced if you read the first two collections of Donnie Cates's Venom series. It's not absolutely essential, but it will give you so much more from this series. Yes, it absolutely is a Carnage event story, but more than that it's a continuation of the Venom story, and I'm glad it is. The first two books have really built Eddie Brock as a really compelling character, and it feels everything beforehand has been slowly building towards this inevitable clash between the two iconic symbiotes. The difference is that Eddie must face the most powerful rendition of Carnage ever seen! Infused with a symbiote dragon and with the power of the Symbiote God Knull, Carnage's mission is to kill everyone who's ever worn a symbiote. I'll not spoil anything else, but there's some avengers surprises you'll want to see, especially one involving Hulk. Again, I'll say no more. The character of Carnage is very much portrayes almost like the Joker. He's insane and brilliant, the perfect enemy for Eddie and Venom. There's also wonderful character moments here too. Everyone gets a chance to shine, and the art and ending was really satisfying. My only minor gripe (and this has been consistent of the Venom series) is that I just don't like the way Venom''s face is drawn. I know that sounds strange, but it's too flat, lacking a jaw of the famous rows of sharp teeth. Again, this is a reletively mind gripe. Do not let that sway your purchasing decision. Please read the first two books in the Venom series. It'll make this so much better for you!

Long time fan. Really liked this.
I'm not going to say this comic was without flaws. But as a fan of Carnage, Venom and Spider-man I really enjoyed this.I haven't read any of the accompanying trade paperbacks but after reading Absolute Carnage I'm very keen too. It was good to see venom and Spidey take on Carnage just like the old days when Maximum Carnage hit the pages. And it was great that the stakes where higher than Maximum Carnage.

Venom classic.
Cates at his best creates an Epic Veronica story line which is leading to further unmissable adventures. If you like venom Don’t miss this.

Fantastic Venom book
Fantastic writing from Donny Cates and brilliant art from Ryan Stegman. This book has brilliant stakes and lots of heart. This book is dark but there is fantastic character moments especially between Venom and Spider-man. Would highly recommend to any fan of venom but worth reading his series first. Not a good book for going in blind.
