Zall good
Great looking, well made, does what these simple little things do; secures the neck to the body, Leo Fender style, the master of R&D and cost saving production engineering. It secures the neck without having to drill 4 individual seats for large steel washers, or add the 4 steps of placing the washers to the production line. It reduces pounds per square inch pressure on the wood under each bolt. Less wood compression, more stable tension on the screws = more stable neck joint. Does it matter if the light steel alloy (attracted to a magnet, in case some y'all wondering how I figured that out) is 0.05" thinner than your prised vintage thing? The only question is does it work. Yes it does. And added to that, it looks great and is inexpensive. Light on light. And I agree, if you are cranking your screws down tight enough to imagine you're distorting the plate, you need to have at least a competent mechanic do this little job for you.

Perfect fit and finish for a US Strat
I do wish some reviewers would do a little basic research into what they are buying before posting negative comments. This neck plate is a high quality replacement for the plate that comes standard on newly-manufactured US Strats (and probably Teles). I purchased this to update the look of my '97 "weird, fat logo" neck plate and am very pleased with the results. The material appears to be aluminum or aluminum alloy with a chrome finish, in contrast to the heavier steel that it replaced. I did not bust out the calipers but it is at least as thick as the older version. It is not plastic, nor pot metal. It comes with screws. For giggles, I stopped by Guitar Center after installing it and yep...all American Standard Strats have this exact same neck plate.

Very lightweight, but it does look cool
Other reviews are correct that this plate is extremely lightweight. Feels like aluminum, and it's basically mirror reflective. I scuffed it until the sheen went away and it looks really cool, but I'm probably going to install it on top of a sturdier steel neck plate with a drilled tilt adjustment hole, and use slightly longer screws, just to be safe.

An excelent product for MIM Strat - Includes Measurements
Wanted to do a little cosmetic surgery on my '09 Mexican sunburst and off to the reviews I went with mixed results. It wasn't too expensive so I ordered it. It arrived quickly just ahead of Christmas and I was instantly impressed with the quality. The chrome is thick and appears to be well bonded with the metal. The reviews tended to focus on the thickness of the plate so I took out my micrometer and took some measurements. The featureless plate I removed from my guitar was 0.086" thick and the replacement was 0.092" thick. Apparently the plates with just the Fender F are thinner than the original plates but this one has Corona, CA on it and a small hole that is used for the micro neck adjustment, of which mine is not equipped, but the hole isn't a problem. I used my old screws and they fit the countersunk holes in the plate perfectly. In hindsight I kind of wish I would have put a tiny bit of wax on the screws so as not to bind up on the chrome but there was no damage from my not using wax.I would recommend it to anyone wanting to dress up their Strat - I don't know about fitting on to a Tele.

Looks sharp and adds legit coolness!
This is legit sharp looking. I put it on an imitation that I’m revamping and it fit perfectly! I had to use the stock screws but that’s ok, the ones that came with the plate did not fit the non fender Strat
