Dr Seuss's Sleep Book

I dare you not to yawn
I have given this book to every friend who has a toddler and it is nothing more that a complete success. Itβs like PsyOps against kids who refuse to sleep or at least chill out. The yawns are infectious and the book is a classic. When I read this to my kids when they were younger, the submission was impressive. The creatures and their bed prep routines are entertaining, the rhymes are perfectly timed and lulling. Zzzzzznngngnzzzznnng.

Another Great Book
I remember reading these books when I was younger and now that I have a child I will get to enjoy reading them to her.

A most unique & Endearing books for kids!
Cannot say enough about Seusse's genius level rhyming children's book! Yeah it's long but it's an incredibly fun way for kids to learn about how words go together in perfect unison and cadence. We read this book so many times to our kids WE had it memorized!Never boring, always hysterical characters and narrative.A great gift. I highly recommend!!

It will quickly become part of your bedtime routine!
I bought this book ten years ago for my granddaughter who was staying with us for a few months. She always got a bit fussy and would be adamant she was NOT tired. So, after all the teeth brushing was done (We nicknamed her bathroom 'Herkheimer Falls' after the falls in the book.) I read this book every night and she almost always fell asleep before the ending.I learned early on to turn the lights down to minimum, put on some soft classical music and to read normally at the beginning. After we got to the Who's asleep score I started reading in a softer voice, getting ever more quiet. Between the ambiance & the wonderful imaginative rhymesand the rolling cadence of the rhymes they can't help themselves How long do they want this bedtime ritual? My granddaughter just turned 11 and either her dad or I read it to her. (I got one for him after he got settled in a home near by). With the arrival of a new grandson I figured I'd better get a new one; the old one is getting pretty worn.

Ultimate knockout drop for kids
I accidentally found this book while ramdonly browsing Amazon. I saw it's excellent reviews from parents and read some samples. It was perfect for my 3yr boy who takes :45min to almost 1.5hrs to put him to sleep at night even with a Melatonin. I was hoping it would knock him out while reading it to him in bed and it did. It was the only book I read to him tonight and he was out with 4 pages left to read still in the book. I'm so excited that it worked and no more Melatonin. π€ I recommend this book to any other parents that get this book needing to get their kid(s) to fall asleep somehow. Just be careful, it will make you sleepy to.

What a great bed time book!
"This book is to be read in bed" are the words you will find in the beginning of this book. It starts off with a little bug that yawns and then rhymes along with random silliness about going to sleep. I read this to my son for bedtime last night, and as with all Dr Seuss books, he laughed at me reading it. Words that are made up, as well as creatures, it's a great bedtime book.My son asked me a couple times "What's that?" when I said the name of a critter in the book and then we took time to make up our own life story of certain creatures. One of which my son decided only ate cream cheese....but it weighted minus one pound. *sigh* If only that were true. ;)This book can be just a bedtime story, or a fun activity before bed. you decide. It's a little long so it may not keep a really young child's interest, but it's still worth trying.

May put you to sleep, too!
I bought this copy for friends with a baby. I read my hand-me-down copy *hundreds* of times to my child over the years to get them to sleep. It often came close to knocking me out as well. The cadence of the prose varies from person to person, of course, but somehow the writing in this book is consistently, persistently soporific (sleep inducing).Whether this book is for your use of for a gift, I HIGHLY recommend this! I will be buying another copy for another friend next month...

too long of a book for bedtime
It's cute, but a little too long and drawn out in mine and my husband's opinion. We love Dr. Seuss books and own many, so I wanted to add this to the collection, but it rarely gets read because it's soooo lengthy.

Absolutely love it
I love Dr Seuss, and this book is the perfect intro to his work for my baby. It has been a part of her good night ritual ever since we bought it and she loves it. When she wasn't so mobile, we used to read it as far as her fussiness would let us. Eventually we realised we only got as fas as the first few pages every night...That happened around the same time that she started becoming more interested in touching everything, including tearing things apart. After the first tear we started to simply recite the first few pages because by then we had learnt them by heart.Last night when I started the first few lines, she looked me in the eyes and smiled knowingly. It melted my heart.I love this book and the moments it keeps giving our family.
