You CANNOT justify the cost of this sub par lip balm
I had some kind of, now completely forgotten, good reason(ha!)for spending this much on something as simple as an SPF lip balm. I don't even really feel like you can call it a balm or chapstick or anything of the sort. Positives: Does have an SPF of 30, little to no off putting flavor(we ALL lick our lips sometimes), it isn't heavily fragranced(we'll come back to fragrance though)and...I've got nothing else good to say about it. This product is SUPPOSED to be hydrating, nourishing and moisturizing and while some of those ingredients ARE quite high on the list of ingredients they end up becoming totally nullified by a literal handful of other ingredients that are a little farther down the list. It is also meant to last for a longer amount of time upon application but obviously it is still recommended to reapply regularly as needed/every two hours. Let me first acknowledge the fact that it does indeed contain essential oils, a concentrated form of whatever ingredient has been made into an oil, and they are also quite high up on that little list, most of these are incredibly drying and dehydrating for ANY of your skin(I'm looking at you citric oils(( limonene and linalool)). These oils are what is providing the very light fragrance so there's that explained. And for some reason they opted to put like 10 totally different and opposing essential oils in this over priced little waxy stick. Oh yeah, that wax at the top of the ingredient list isn't doing your lips any favors either. It is toted as being a long lasting lip balm but it absolutely is not long lasting whatsoever after you apply it. Regardless of whether or not you're eating or drinking or absent mindedly licking your lips(we all need to break that habit, seriously)after you've applied a decent layer of this stuff it WILL wear off and need to be reapplied approximately every 5 minutes. No joke. Those citrus extracts I highlighted act as drying agents and completely remove any trades of the product from your lips. That's just stupid. Not to mention the fact that the texture is almost unbearable. It is gritty and bumpy and does not apply smoothly in any way at all(the type of wax used has a lot to do with this)nor does it ever really become smooth on your lips even if you non-stop rub your lips together. Still just as gritty. But hey! Maybe that grit is exfoliating your lips? In which case you really do need to find yourself a much better lip SPF product to protect your lips after an exfoliating treatment. All in all my skincare obsessed self made a huge mistake ordering this just absurdly overpriced SPF lip balm and I feel really dumb. I 110% do not recommend this product. And I never will. If you want an affordable and actually nourishing, hydrating SPF lip product I suggest you look up either of the next two products I am going to suggest. First is the Sun Bum Lip Balm SPF 30 which, yes, you can get on Amazon too! You can get a 3 pack of them for $6.66 or just a single tube for $3.99, these do have flavors and/or scents so be aware of how far up on the list those types of ingredients are. Both of my product recommendations can be found right here on Amazon. The product I HIGHLY suggest getting is the Aquaphor Lip Protectant and Ointment SPF 30 with UVA and UVB protectant, unscented and no flavor! Yay! You can get the Aquaphor on here for $3.74 and I believe both are prime eligible. So there you go, there is my ridiculously long review of a product I was really excited to try, especially when I heard that one tube of the Aesop was supposed to last you for an insanely long amount of time(the whole tube of product is supposed to last, according to one product description, for a whole year. What a joke.I wish you all the best possible luck in finding an actually GOOD SPF lip product that actually delivers on its promises.

This is my partners FAVORITE lip balm
I buy this for her for her birthday every year because its EXPENSIVE but she eeks out every time. She tries to restrain herself to make it last as long as possible. I've tried it and it makes your lips feel incredibly soft and luxurious, I have no idea how they do it.
