FSA PF30 Road BB Bottom Bracket - Light Blue

Creak crackle creak
Whilst not necessarily the fault of the BB itself, I'm getting sick of buying and replacing these, particularly at a seemingly ever increasing price! For any marginal benefit over the previous screw-in standards, the working lifespan (c.1 year of commuting) and near impossibility of preventing creaking is a nightmare. Given the specialist tools I purchased to extract the old and press in the new ones of these, I'm equally loathed to spend even more on tools to be able to install a threaded pf30 option like that offered by wheels manufacturing (which would be my recommendation if you haven't got the tools yet). I can't wait for the end of PF30. My only positive thing to say about the FSA version is that at least it lasted longer than the SRAM version I tried, which seized within 6 weeks.

Resolves the creaking issue - for about 6 months...
Yes, great when new. All smooth etc.Bought a special tool to install it and installed it with a wack of loctite. After about 6 months of weekend use (on and off-road) and indoor training it creaks like a haunted house again.Do I buy the more expensive Bottom Brackets next to avoid the creaking? Probably not, for the price difference I may as well keep replacing the bottom brackets....

Like a new bike again.
A fairly simple straight swop to a identical bottom bracket using the removal/install kit also purchased from Amazon, and hopefully the bearings will last another four years off riding all year round.

Replacement PF 30
Very easy to fit. Good fit(in fact so good I measured diameter of bearing housing an BB before trying to pressing in as I thought I might have wrong size 😊) but need specific tools for job. (Removing old BB was a different matter. Took fair effort and glad it wasn’t a carbon frame)
