AXXUS Bluetooth Wireless Speaker - (BLACK)

I sampled a number of Bluetooth speakers recently...all of them had quirks that led me to return most of them. I don't expect small speakers to have clear, full sound: there is usually not much bass, a tendency for midrange to be somewhat congested, and treble either bright or diffuse...but to bring speakers along on trips and the ease of Bluetooth connectivity makes it easier to live with less than memorable sound...that and a cost under $40 or so.Which leads me to this speaker. It's not exactly portable (2 pounds, a 4" x 4" x 4" cube), but it does come with a sturdy padded case and space for the charger and cord. It is solidly built with two large woofers and two tweeters, and a battery that can play for 20 hours on a single charge. It's about $100.BUT IT ALSO SOUNDS FANTASTIC.There is ample space, definition and 'bloom' around instruments with none of the pinching or cutoff that one can hear in a smaller, less powerful setup. Bass is presented without exaggeration. Music played louder doesn't lose its focus; it retains clarity and presence whatever the level is.One other thing: in my sampling of recently released Bluetooth speakers, I found most were guilty of randomly clipping off the first 1/2 second or so of tracks without any rhyme or reason. That did not occur when I connected my player directly to the speaker, or listened to the specific tracks through the player itself. Suffice to say, that did not happen EVER with this speaker.Yes, this is a relatively expensive speaker compared to what's out there selling for under $50. It is also somewhat heavy and bulky, the charger is proprietary/there is no micro USB connect option, and you'll have to decide if you prefer all black or different accent colors for the woofer brackets (gold, blue, red, silver)...but the sound quality is well worth the investment, and I find myself making time to listen again to my library; high praise indeed.

I contacted Panther Audio before making the purchase and they were very quick to reply and answered all of my questions. I really like the retro look and the volume knob that is absent from most of the smaller speakers. For such a small speaker, the bass is very deep and the tweeters provide amazingly clear vocals. It is on the heavier side for a speaker of this size, but I assume that it is due to the larger magnets that gives it such a rich sound. However, the sound it produces easily outweighs the weight of the speaker. Plus, it comes with a nice carrying case that includes room for the provided AC adapter, auxiliary audio cable and a little extra room for an additional small item. It quickly paired with my phones bluetooth.

I love this speaker. I had an old SONY CD player with an old 20pin IPhone connector where I put a Bluetooth dongle after my IPhone started to use new connector. Comparing with the SONY's one, this speaker is much smaller but give us much better and stronger sound. I normally listen to pop music (sometimes classical music just before sleep :) ) and this speaker is perfect to this kind of music delivering very clear singer's voice and good strong bass too. All of my family loves this speaker and I highly recommend this product to music lovers looking for high quality sound from small speaker. I will bring this to an outdoor event this weekend to see how the sound is even outdoors. I will post again after that.

I've owned a half dozen or more blue tooth speakers (I tend to lose them) and this is by far the best I've heard. Crisp extremely accurate treble, structured and melodic mid-range, and some decent mid-bass. I think they probably could have tuned this to produce lower sounding bass (like the big jambox or bose) but instead went for volume - this thing is LOUD - twice as loud as the Bose and 1/2 again louder than the jambox. My daughter and I played frisbee on the beach for hours and were 100+ feet away with crashing of the waves and could hear our music perfectly. I also love that it came with a carry case, audio cable and power charger. You can tell this was made with care by audiophiles. My wish would be for them to make a second speaker - a mini subwoofer to go along with it (hint hint)

This speaker is amazing for its size. I have stopped using my old Nyne Bass, which is 4x the size of the axxus!while the bass is great for a speaker of this size, the highs from the dual tweeters are exceptional for any speaker.But just like they say about cameras - the best camera is the one you have with you - this is also true for your bluetooth speaker - the compact convenience of this speaker makes it the one you use the most.

I give the speaker 4 out of 5 stars. I would have given it 5 stars but there is a slight drop off of the base when you're in Bluetooth mode. When it is hardwired it really sounds terrific. I don't want to make the drop off sound really menacing because if you download a bass booster to help it sounds really good without hardwiring.

This speaker is great! Good sound and battery life. We're getting a lot of use - and fun - out of it

How long does the battery last ?
