Very good read. This book was a life changer! I was under conviction starting with the first chapter.
Even though I thought I knew something about humility, this book took me to a whole new meaning. For those that read it, and do take your time, you will feel an inner cleansing without the guilt. Thanks for expressing the freedom we can have with the love of God.

Better Than Expected
After reading some of the reviews, I hesitated to purchase it. But I did, and I'm glad I took the time to read it. R.T. Kendall is right on, and although he does name drop a bit, the message is still the same: that we all need to overcome our pride and become more like Jesus. The only thing that I didn't like was that he offers readers a chance at "salvation," by praying Jesus into your heart, which is Biblically not an accurate way to be saved, and may mislead readers who aren't familiar with Biblical salvation. But other than that, this book made me take a deeper look into my own heart of pride in ways I didn't realize.

Everyone should read this Book!
Deeply freeing! A thorough, clear, honest, and deep dive into the hidden areas of pride. A must read for all seeking to grow in their walk with God.

R.T. really bares his heart. He is human just likes us.
Really delighted by the authors open-ness about himself. Easier to relate. His honesty causes me to greatly increase my gratitude to our Lord Jesus Christ for myself and ALL of us.I highly recommend this book to all who have been rebellious in growing up and all who are carrying bitterness from being hurt by the ambitious.

Very good book
RT is challenging us a lot with this book... but every Christian should read it because it is a perfect representation, nevertheless how weak is human nature, of how great is the love of God for us...

A Great Read
Great book, he's a great purveyor of sense. It is well written and heartful, everyone should read it - except the arrogant, who of course don't need to.

another excellent book by R.T. Kendall
This is a book that I found I needed to pray my way through, as revelation and conviction met me on every page. I would say this has been one of the most significant works for the Refiner's fire to cleanse my soul of that which does not please the Lord and is destructive to me. The title suggests that Kendall writes about humility, and he does, but he does it obliquely from the perspective of our pride. As J.P. Jackson wrote in his forward, "As RT reveals, there are many ways pride is displayed and often unwittingly embraced. But two things are certain: a lack of the fear of God invites the onslaught of pride into our lives, and we are experiencing a significant drought of the fear of God in our culture today."The chapters include: Taking Ourselves Too Seriously, Is Pride Always a Bad Thing?, Modesty, Self-Righteousness, Hypocrisy, The Gospel. This book, I believe is one that will benefit anyone who is serious about finding out what pleases the Lord and wants to prepare for His soon return. I highly recommend it.

My husband just finished this book. He has read all of RT Kendall's books and loves them all. Very informative. Very down to earth .

T Kendalls an easy read and I think he hits the topic head ...
I am only a few chapters in to this book but once again R.T Kendalls an easy read and I think he hits the topic head on and if you feel like its time to take the rose coloured glasses off of yourself instead of judging everyone else, then this is a book for you.
