Don't get fooled by the small sized box, once the 3 sand packages are open, it is plentiful. Really enjoyed playing with it myself, the feeling is odd, it does not stay stiff like real sand, but still manages to keep the forms you create. I did not find the sand boxes offered here very practical, mainly because you need to keep the sand from drying out and also put it away, or carry with you, thus in a closed box. I purchased a Really Useful Box 18 Litre Clear and as you see on the picture, it is enough but you could do a bit bigger if you don't want the three colours to be mixed. I find working the sand in the box is really convenient and you just put the lid on and carry anywhere with your child. It's ideal for hours of playing indoors on rainy days but you may take it out on the terrace or even in the garden too if you don't care for real sand. It won't make a mess provided it stays in its box, and it doesn't stain nor stick (I worked with it for two hours). It's a really nice alternative to the outdoor sand box, and less of a mess provided your child doesn't spill it all over the floor or table.

We were really pleased to find this product as my children love kinetic sand but they don't sell it in good quantities and it's rather expensive. However after the children had been playing with it for a while quite a lot of the colour had come out of the sand (in my case red). We only realised when we saw red hand prints on the carpet and all the way up there stair banister. After a good wash down of hands and anywhere else they touched we decided to limit the time they play with it in order to limit the damage and washing time due to the colour run from the sand. This is a shame but we will have to look for another type of play modeling sand. Wouldn't recommend in this basis.

First kids love playing with it. Bought both Red and Green.Sadly, the #1 problem is gets dye into everything. Kids hands, legs, clothes all get stained. If kids then move around your house, expect your carpets, sofas, wall, anything else they come in contact with to get stained too. Washed kids in the bathtub, and dye transfer to the tub. A lot of work to then clean kids, clothes, house, and scrub bathtub back to clean as well. Threw it all in the garbage. The product description says: "...super easy to clean up!" - I'd disagree.#2 Product description: "This sand is kinetic, so it sticks only to itself and not to you!" Hmmm...not really. Sand doesn't stick to itself and as I'd described above - the dye with transfer to everything it comes in to contact with.Your kids will still love it - but you'll regret ever opening the box.

My daughter has only just discovered this stuff. She loves it. It arrived a few days early which is always good. I was dissapointed as if ordered the purple one and blue arrived. She already had a blue one, but she's none the wiser. Still loved it. Easy to clean, and so much fun. My only criticism is even after cleaning it up from the floor it makes the floor slippy (we play it in the kitchen on marble effect tiles and it always gets trampled into the hall on the wooden floor). I have to mop it after. This is the same with all of these type of sand tho so I knew that buying it.Overall, I think its a great product, you receive alot of sand, the tray is deep but small so doesn't get used except for storage, don't count on the colour you ordered. I would get this again for birthday presents. Great value. Great product.

This is the best toy I have bought in years.I have 2 boys a 7yr old and a 3yr old. I have never Seen them play so contently for so long.1hr 45 mins of continuous play.It helps that the sand has a very soothing therapeutic feel to it. My 7yr old is borderline ADHD I have never seen him so relaxed and content.A must buy for parents with active children who love to get hands on.
