ViperDesperado 80% Tungsten Soft Tip Darts with Storage/Travel Case: Death Mark, 18 Grams

Here is a synopsis of my experience with these darts.Starting with the pros:1. Package deal: for the price, you get decent barrels (what I was really into the darts for) and a decent carrying case. I say decent because you cant expect high class material if you're paying for 80% tungsten barrels, the other stuff is a wonderful add on. Till today, I'm still using the same case even if I dont use the same darts, it's a nice case to have.2. Grip: the flare you see above the black area on the barrel has stubborn grip, for those who need to feel the barrel grip on your fingers, I'd say, in my 3 months beginning to play, it felt nice to feel the dart leave my hand.3. Weight: this weight is great for those begining to play, practice your throw with these, when you start getting your form (I've been practicing for 3 months now) then thing about heavier (19-20g) darts.And for the cons:1. The Tips included: I would advise that the tips dont be used, they arent horrible, but they were breaking in my board more than my Lippoint tips. A friend once told me: you really buy these sets for the barrel. So I hope it brings some light to this thought.2. Flights: the flights are not bad, but if you're planning to play seriously, dont expect these to keep its 90° for long. Just remember that tip from con #1.Hope this helps.

Item was ordered 3.1.2015, and arrived quickly on 3.3.2015. The darts themselves have a great feel and balance to them. These are my first set that utilize the razor grip on the back half of the barrel . I was skeptical, but they have a good feel in the hand. Groupings are close with no problems. The provided tips are adequate, having withstood 10 games of cricket already without a single break.I cannot speak to the shafts, as they were replaced with a set of spinning shafts.The storage case is unique, and sets the darts apart from other sets. Not that image matters, but it is nice to know which case and darts are yours at a glance. It is by no means a pocket case, however. Its more of a glovebox case or display case for your home board or game room.On the down side, the flights leave something to be desired. After reading other Amazon reviews of similar Viper darts, one criticism echoes to be true. For expensive darts, the flights are extremely disappointing. Not only were the original pre-installed flights damaged (pictures included), but the replacement flights had issues splitting from the base of the flight much faster than other flights I have used. The generic "Viper" replacement flights didn't even make it through 4 games of cricket. Even though flights are inexpensive, and most dart players have extras on hand, it would have been nice to receive flights that did the barrel, shaft, and case justice. Why the flights ship pre-installed in the shaft is beyond me. Simply removing them and placing them flat in the case would remedy the damage issue.All in all, I could have given the complete set 4+ stars, but since they arrived damaged, which has been a problem outlined by other reviewers, I cannot rate them higher than 3 stars. If you order any of the Viper Desperado darts, order some extra flights with your purchase. You will thank me later.

Nice darts,except for one had bad shaft.. luckily bought new ones. The case had a big dent in the center,wasn't too happy about that. And to top it all off, it was late getting here,,, again! Seems to me as if someone needs to make it right!...UPDATE: Apparently noone wants to make it right.. DAMAGED AND LATE..

I recently have got back into darts and did a lot of research before settling on this product. There are tons of options out there and I am a recreational player who was looking for a good set. I am very happy with the quality and looks of this set. I am also happy with the feel and weight of the set but I think that is more of a personal preference that differs from person to person. I would highly recommend this set for anyone looking to upgrade from the cheap entry level dart sets out there. I have received many comment on the case these come with. It looks very cool and is well made.

Bought as a gift for my son-in-law. He likes them and the case is very nice. They work well, hoping they remain in good shape.
