Sweet gift from my daughter & and her guy (and her 4 cats) for Mother's Day! Note: The mug bottom design in the included, ceramic mug provides greater contact for temperature control. Flat-bottom glass or metal will make contact but check the bottom of your mugs. Most of mine have a reverse "rim" with a slightly recessed bottom. Thus, no contact, no heat control. Don't plan on heating room-temperature (let alone, cold) beverages to drinking level, though the manual alludes to this working. Negligible temp increase over the last 30+ minutes.The "button" on the front is really just a "power on" light. Off/On is controlled by the disconnect, power-interrupter, gravity button underneath the unit. Take care not to leave the cup (or any object) sitting on the plugged-in unit unattended. When it is "on", it cannot be turned off manually. Remove anything sitting on it to turn it off or unplug the base.And the instructions say not to immerse in water, so no dishwasher (Yes, of course, for the cup). Hand wash gently. The "gold leaf" on the outside may wear off. (No microwave use either). I wouldn't leave any beverage sitting in the mug, but I haven't had it long enough to comment further on that.

This warmer doesn't get hot enough to keep the coffee warm

This is wonderful! I live near Milwaukee, and warm things are like gold in the winter. Keeping my coffee or tea warm is invaluable in the winter.

Great way to keep your drink warm. Love this and very easy to use

Received as a gift and was using for a bit, but the base shattered while my mug was on the base. Please be careful as the base is glass and can potentially break while using. Do not leave unattended. Luckily I was at my desk when it happened and heard the base pop. The mug stopped the glass from shattering everywhere, but some did get on my desk.
