Supergirl Vol. 2: Escape from the Phantom Zone (Rebirth)

Dans la continuité du volume 1, Kara nous charme, sa candeur, sa naïveté mais aussi sa façon de voir la terre, très différente de Clark qui lui a grandi ici, tout ça offre un personnage Kryptonien qui mélange douceur et puissance, un de mes personnages préféré de l'univers DC.Ce volume 2 offre une continuité et uniformité graphique tout d'abord, le dessinateur reste le même que depuis la toute première page du premier volume. Pas parfait, ce style reste terriblement efficace pour l'expression des émotions et le mouvement des combats, les cases sont fluides et transmettent tout ce que le lecteur doit savoir, sans fioriture.Scénaristiquement, le temps fort de ce volume 2 se trouve relativement au début lorsque Clark explique à Kara tout ce qu'il sait sur la situation globale (à lire en parallèle notamment dans Superman et Superwoman) et offre quelques magnifique moment de Super-famille, assez touchant. Le reste de l'histoire repose sur un duo avec Batgirl, la dynamique est superbe et franchement voir ces deux là, affronter de telles menaces nous montre aussi les perspectives de films potentiels, ça serait vraiment super d'avoir ces deux personnages féminins forts au cinéma ! Xa-du est une menace charismatique mais un poil faiblarde au final, on retiendra surtout la dynamique du duo, la trame du "futur potentiel" avec Emerald et le cliffhanger de fin qui donne l'eau à la bouche !

Meine Tochter hat begeistert nun schon den 2.Teil gelesen. Sie ist auch ein Fan der TV Serie.

As opposed to the New52 take on Supergirl, this one is inspired by the TV show on CBS/CW. This Supergirl is light, optimistic, and trusting. She can be pretty arrogant at times, but otherwise is alot like the TV version that so clearly inspired her. So many details are borrowed or adapted from the TV show from the focus on National City or Cat Grant or the DEO or the Danvers'. This Supergirl has a life of sorts, and isn't just bouncing hectically from one situation to the other, never spending more than an issue or two in one place which is what the New52 version did.The art is very cartoon-y, looking more manga inspired than Kirby-inspired. Kara gets an outfit and artist that are less geared towards 14 year old boys. The editors clearly are trying to attract girls to this character.

Just like vol. 1 I will give this 3 stars the writing is good but the artwork is definitely falling short in my opinion. I did enjoy the team up with Superman the interaction with his family was the best part of the whole book. I always love a good superhero team up and Batgirl fills that role about halfway through this book but I thought she was a little overwhelming. It seemed like I was reading a Batgirl book and her sidekick is Supergirl obviously I thought it should be the other way around. I mean I bought this because "Supergirl" is the name on the cover.
