Silly
This book was really boring. I found the characters boring, and whiny, and they got on my nerves. Also, I didn't get how it was OK to continuously compromise someone's safety for your own pleasure? Is it really the time to surf when a big storm is coming? They almost got killed several times due to their stupidity and carelessness and lack of responsibility. This did nothing for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not worth my time.

When two hurricanes collide, this is what happens.
A very timely book, given the two hurricanes hitting the Southern U.S. in recent months. McCall does a very fine job of weaving the forces of nature with misunderstanding on Sophie's part and her difficulty in moving beyond the huge hurt following the accident that broke her family. These latter realities create tension and a wall between her and Finn that begin to erode as they struggle to find shelter before the storm peaks. Just as they start to connect again, Finn reveals something that scares Sophie enough so she backtracks big time. What that is and how they survive the twin hurricanes, one natural, one emotional, make for a very satisfying read.

Utterly Superb
What a FANTASTIC novel!Hoyle has created a wonderful piece of work here. Sophie is a honest character the reader truly comes to care for by the end of the book, and her story is beautifully crafted. Finn isn't so bad either!

Great Read!
Another amazing story from McCall Hoyle. Her stories are compelling, real, uplifting, and always leave you wanting more. Meet The Sky is no exception! Even though it is YA, I devoured it as quickly and eagerly as my middle school students.
