After years of drinking soda I have switched to iced tea. This has brought about a journey to figure out how to inexpensively make tea at home. I started with a smaller glass container and used smaller tea bags. The previous pitcher I tried was a 68 ounce square container (which is 2 Liters equivalent). You'll see it in my reviews. It was a nice size and sturdy but there were some issues. One, the lid wasn't great and the seal stained. Two, it was very heavy. Three, I couldn't add hot water to it. Four, it had a big footprint in the fridge for a smaller size. 2 liters was not enough for a whole day of drinking tea. So I kept looking and found this Aofmee 81 oz glass pitcher.Details:- Pitcher is 81 oz. This is larger than 2 liters. But 60% the size of a gallon or 2.5 quarts. or 2.4 liters I don't know why they settled on 81 oz. for this container, I suspect they let the dimensions decide the size. Just calculate for 10 cups (10 x 8 oz)- Pitcher weights 5.1 pounds EMPTY. This is much lighter than my other one that was smaller. But keep in mind that 81 oz of water weighs over 5.2 pounds. So that means you're at 10 pounds when this is full. That is more than the weight of a full plastic gallon container. Pouring from 10 pounds can be wobbly so probably not good for those that have weak arm or hand strength.- That being said, this container was an improvement over the previous glass one for a few reasons. The glass seemed thinner but it was sturdy.- Handle feels very sturdy when pouring, does not feel like it will break in my hands- The lattice like texture is very nice. It feels nice and looks nice. I prefer it to the smooth alternatives.- It has a wide mouth that is easy to clean- It came with a free bottle scrubby for cleaning it- The lid is excellent. It has a straining opening or a nonstraining opening. It fits in there tight. The plastic gasket does not stain. It does not leak when pouring. It is easy to put on and take off.- Most Important: this glass is made from borosilicate glass. This means you can add hot water up to 300* to it! I couldn't do this with the other plastic pitcher I tried and I can't do it with the plastic pitcher I tried (safely).- It says it can be heated directly on the burner gas stove. I have not tried this. It does not fit into my microwave because of the height. But you can pour boiling (212*F) hot water directly in with no problem.Because of the weight of this pitcher and the fluid weight, I recommend always keeping one hand underneath to help support the weight when pouring. The seller does mention that in transport about 1% may break and so reach out to them if it arrives broken and they will send you a new one.The pitcher is 10.2 inches tall. I will post a picture of it next to my 1 gallon pitcher to show size.Because this pitcher was not 1 GALLON, I was wasting tea bags since I found the 1 gallon Lipton tea bags are great. If you use smaller tea bags, or use this for something else, there's no issue. I think this is the best large glass pitcher out there. It is lightweight but sturdy. Has a great lid. Easy to clean. Easy to pour. Looks beautiful. I still use this pitcher to brew my tea with my big tea bags, but then I transfer it to a gallon plastic pitcher and add water. I believe a 1 gallon glass pitcher is prohibitively heavy for most people so that is why I added in the plastic pitcher for my sweet tea journey.There are reviews of this cracking when hit on surfaces. It is glass, so that is to be expected. This is sturdy and strong and can handle boiling water but at the end of the day it is still made of GLASS. It isn't for kids or those that are rough with things. I am really pleased with it and would have been perfectly happy with it forever except that I needed a larger size for my tea bag brew since the large tea bag made 1 gallon. But if you use individual tea bags this would be perfect as long as you can handle the weight and caution that comes with glass.It is by far the prettiest of the pitchers I have. You could put it on the table with ice water or lemonade and it would be impressive.

Bought this pitcher for making lemonade and ice tea. Nice design, easy care, light weight but perfect if used w/care… hot water for ice tea! I used my electric tea pot to boil my water … let it cool a bit then poured it in pitcher w/tea bags to steep! Turned out perfect!! Do NOT refrigerate untilPitcher has cooled completely to avoid damage/breakage. Washes well … sponge brush enclosed for ease!Easy to handle when completely full … but be careful … it glass!😎🍹

I use my picture to make homemade unsweetened ice tea. I brew the ice tea right in the pitcher. Once it's cooled completely I top off with cold water and put it in the fridge. So convenient, easy to clean with the brush that is included. Only negative is the top just sits on the top. It is not secure so you need to hold it in place while pouring. Even with that I still love this pitcher and it's saving me money on buying the premade ice tea.

I am using this product for iced tea. It looks nice overall. Lid fits properly and handle makes it easy to hold. I would purchase it again!

When this first arrived I thought it looked kind of delicate and fragile. The handle is pretty thin and I thought surely it will break. Turns out it is very tough and sturdy. I simply put 4 tea bags in and filled it with water, set it out in the sun for awhile and voila, Iced Tea!

I chose this pitcher - and it didn't disappoint - because it's an excellent price for something that is elegant without being really delicate, and because it looks easy to hand wash. Dropping it would be a terrible idea, but it feels sturdy enough that you don't have to worry about setting it down with the utmost care. It has a wide mouth, and my entire hand fits inside to clean it, which is exactly what I wanted. The company provides a brush for cleaning if you have hands much larger than mine. The pitcher's shape is perfect, in my opinion: its wider base means my cats (or a misguided elbow) would have trouble knocking it over, its handle feels very sturdy and is perfectly shaped for gripping comfortably without touching the potentially hot sides, and its spout pours in a very controlled and precise manner. I really appreciate the useful quantity markings on the side, which will allow precise mixing of ingredients in the future, and its size is ample without being overwhelming. It feels balanced even when full. I haven't tested it in extreme heat or cold yet, but I don't anticipate needing to put it in any other conditions than room temperature and the cold of the fridge, so someone else may wish to run that test. The stainless steel top with its square opening and filter opening seem like they will be great for making sangria and other drinks - they'll definitely stop any larger particles from reaching your glass. It should be noted that the seal of the top is therefore not complete (don't expect it to seal water inside when "poured" even when neither the larger opening nor filter opening faces the spout) - there's no way to seal the pitcher completely, but that's not a problem for me, and perhaps the company has other tops that seal (I haven't checked). The only small issue I've noted so far is that the top makes the pitcher pour with a little less control, so that might be a design fix for the future (the stream still wouldn't miss your cup). Overall, a great buy, and the company seems to be doing its best to make its customers aware of how to contact it in case of any issues, which I appreciate.

Fits well on the bottom shelf of my refrigerator. Nice design - will look good when used for entertaining.

It almost seems like it will break because it can be filled so heavy with liquid and can be so hot but the light glass holds up really well and hasn’t had any problems. I have filled it with boiling water to the top with no cracks or issues. It pours well. The lid stays on and it fits perfectly in the fridge door next to my milk jug.

Great value for money. Perfect for hot or cold drinks. Thick glass and sturdy. Looks great and I am sure I will get a lot use of it.

I'm pleased with this jug, it holds just the right amount needed and looks solid and well made. Ideal for homemade lemonades or cocktails.
