For six months or so, this was a wonderful product that gave us a lot of joy in the mornings. I probably would have given a five star review, in fact. But then it began leaking from every little crevice. At first it was just a drip or two, but over a few weeks it got to the point where it was like a little rain storm encircling my coffee cup and it’s rendered the machine completely unusable.DeLonghi has offered to repair it because it’s stillunder warranty, which is kind of nice but...1. I must ship it to them2. I must cover the cost of shipping it3. There is no clarity on how long I’ll be without my machine while they repair itIn the day and age of Amazon, if your $250 product falls apart for no good reason, asking the customer to spend their time and money to ship it back to you for repair probably isn’t the way to go (at least if you want to avoid reviews like this one). And so, in spite of its lovely aesthetics, this product and Delonghi are getting one star from me and my advice to you would be to find a comparable machine from another manufacturer.

Great machine! I had read complaints about a lack of crema, but the images attached to this review show the results I had on the first pull with one tamp of standard Lavazza Rossa (red package).The water basin is detachable and easy to clean, it clicks into the base and is convenient in design. The boiler has good power and delivers hot water in less than a minute. The included portafilters are of good quality, but the included 50mm tamper/spoon is flimsy plastic and should be upgraded to obtain best results.The onboard menu system for setting water temperature, sleep mode timeout in minutes, etc. via three buttons is unintuitive and will require the manual to understand. Once set up, those three buttons are self-explanatory - one cup, two cups, steam.The package included a descaler and a water test strip to determine soft/hard water - both are nice touches. The manual showed a water filter but I didn't find one in the box.I've owned many coffee machines like this over the years, expensive ones and beaters too. All compared, this model has great looks and great value - all the features work well and I really like how compact it is on my kitchen counter. It will get lots of use. Thanks to DeLonghi and Amazon for offering this product for review. A+Update: The crema has been consistent with every pull, I've also tried using a different coffee (Pilao, a standard Brazilian coffee) and am getting good results.The one thing I am not liking is the hot water dispenser - it is a staged pump design and ticks the hot water out like a lawn sprinkler. Putting a cup under it makes the hot water splash out - to fix this, disconnect the frothing wand, remove the black plastic funnel, then reconnect the wand to the arm.

This is a great little espresso machine! I love the sleek design and small profile for my apartment kitchen. I actually find the crema to be decent and the steamer is fast and effective. I love the additional option to just use hot water from the steam tap, it makes making americanos in the morning extra quick and convenient. The only obvious flaw that I saw mentioned in many other reviews is the power button. It sticks. Luckily I discovered I can leave the power button on and the machine automatically shuts down/goes to sleep. I’ve started doing this to avoid breaking the button (which seems like it’s only a matter of time). Overall very easy to use and effective.

Esta cafetera demostró estar muy limitada en cuanto su capacidad de producir una bebida real espresso, la mayor parte de las veces el café no salía con crema y cuando usaba el filtro doble con 2 medidas de café, simple y sencillamente el café no se extraía. Pero después de un tiempo me acostumbre a obtener solo single shots en lugar de dobles, aun usando el filtro doble.La máquina empezó a filtrar el agua después de 4 meses de uso, 4 o 5 shots a la semana, primero por el portafiltros al momento de extraer el café y después por todos lados incluso al usar el espumador de leche. Ingrese la máquina a servicio y he esperado pacientemente por casi 3 meses sin que hasta la fecha se haya solucionado la fuga. La respuesta que me dan vía telefónica es que no han recibido un conector creo, defectuoso. Deplorable!

For those who's looking at saving space and not intense coffee drinker, it is good one.Otherwise, buy a larger one with deeper pocket to hold the "real" double shots.The same 1.5 bar pressure, I think this model has a "smart" walk-around to reduce the coffee pocket so you don't literally get a double shot as many other brand. Yes, of course it won't stuck, but the coffee is sooo weak that you have to do it over and over again.2ndly, this invention of coffee filter inside of the coffee pocket is certainly going to ruined after a while and start adding silicon plastics into your coffee and taste... is that the same thing seeped into the designer's head?It could have been all stainless still on the hot components.The plastic base is super filmsy, thinking when you have to squeeze in the pocket without breaking it, it requires some skills. Will see how long it last.Overall, fair product, doesn't fit the price tag, could have keep our old one and return this.
