Borage oil has a distinctive not very pleasant odor. You'll find that in any brand, not just this one. I bought this to use on my scalp which gets very dry and itchy in the winter time. I couldn't stand the smell though. It smells like wet dog? / blood? / wet ironworks?. Something in that scent family... I tried mixing it with other scalp treatments that were heavy on the mint but I could still smell the borage oil and shelved it. I recently had an outbreak of eczema on my arms though and instead of reaching for my hydrocortisone I tried this and the eczema disappeared within two days. And when used in small amounts away from my head/face the odor was undetectable. Win/win!!

I have purchased different oils from this brand numerous occasions because their oils WERE really great!! However this time around.. smell like a big bag of wet pennies… omg like what happened?
