Tube Bar Prank Calls 35th Anniversary Complete Collection [DVD+CD] Dolby/DTS

Anyone who had a copy of the "Red Tape" will appreciate this. Supposedly this is the complete set of all calls the pranksters made to the Tube Bar and they are alleged to be in chronological order. It seemed to me that some of the first calls on this disc would have to have been made later, but I could be wrong. My only criticism of this package is the fake crowd noise that was put in the background of every call. It is entirely unnecessary and actually detracts from the call itself. In some instances it even makes it hard to understand the dialogue (remember the source material was not high-fidelity). That being said, the content is hilarious if you are of that mindset and hearing new calls after so many years is definitely appreciated and if you've never heard these you owe it to yourself to listen ("listen you ...").

Well I got my copy of the Tube Bar 35th Anniversary DVD/CD Edition and There's a lot of funny stuff here and it was nice to hear some of the prank calls I'd never heard before. The only flaw with this edition is on the CD portion. On all 105 calls the makers of this CD felt the need to add an ambient bar chatter sound effect as background audio to the calls. This factor makes full enjoyment of these calls a bit distracting and some of the calls are very hard to hear as a result. The audio on the Tube Bar CD from the 90's seemed much crisper and clearer by comparison.The DVD extras are a real treat though, and the cartoons of the calls to Red are hysterical. Overall it's a set worth having if your a fan of this type of humor. The minor flaw with the audio on the CD portion is the only thing keeping me from giving this one 5 stars.

I received my copy today, and I had to come on here to tell anyone reading this to buy it now. Seriously, don't even bother to read the rest of this review, just order it.There have been imitators, bootlegs and other crank call albums that have come out in the 35 years since these calls were made, but none of them can hold a candle to the undisputed mastery and brilliance of these original calls. The Tube Bar calls are legendary, and after years of sloppy bootleg releases, official releases that mixed in too much other garbarge and not enough of "Red", we finally have ourselves a complete collection of every Tube Bar call ever made! This is an astonishing achievement and the calls are preserved brilliantly showcased on this collection. Red has never sounded better as these calls have been digitally re-mastered from the original source tapes.The Tube Bar Calls are The Beatles of prank calls. If you have only owned the bootlegs or the previous "Tube Bar" CD, you are in for a serious treat with this release; you will be treated to loads of "new" Red calls for the very first time! It's a fantastic DVD (and CD) set that's been professionally authored and includes all the Red goodness you could ever hope for. The DVD is loaded with great extras including the rare "Red" movie, funny animation shorts as well as the original mono recordings for completists! So there is my review, from a long time fan of these calls. If you are on the fence about ordering this, don't hesitate! It's money well spent. The procedes go to the guys who made these brilliant calls, so it's a nice way to say "thanks" for all the laughs they have given us over the years.Order it now, it's an absolute must have for any true fan of the Tube Bar "Red" calls.

I am glad they finally released all of the Tube Bar calls as I have been waiting to hear them all. The audio remastering is amazing and the DVD is great. I loved the movie it really complements the calls. Great set for any prankster!
