Empire romain 211 AD enroulé : Carte de l'Empire romain ()

I am writing this review because last I saw, nobody had done so, and I thought it was a shame, and I wanted people to know what a truly wonderful item this is, and that they should not hesitate to order it.This is an absolutely amazing map of the Roman Empire. I had long wanted to order a copy but had no wall space available for such a large map (it is 33 x 47 inches). We recently moved and the wall space became available and I have to say, it is everything I expected and more.I took it to Michael's to have it framed. The warned me that due to its size it would require a heavy frame to bear the weight of the glass and cost well over $200. I opted instead to have a thin laminate placed directly on the surface of the map and a much narrower frame. It still cost me $160 but the result was worth it. It is light and was easy to hang and it is beautiful hanging above my desk where I can see it.It is incredibly detailed, showing border defenses, cities, ruins, sanctuaries, roads, oases, mountain passes, naval bases, and even sea routes with travel times given in days. Honestly, every Roman citizen should have this map. You have to wonder, if the ancient Romans had had access to a map like this if the empire would ever have fallen.Exquisite. A must have for every worshiper of all things Roman. Five stars, more if possible.

This is the most legible and durable map of this type that I have found so far. The paper is pretty thick and somewhat glossy, but you could probably laminate it to protect it more. It has held up well over the past year+ and has a great level of detail.

Great map! Just what I needed! I've had it framed, and I'm using it for reference purposes. My hobbyis collecting Roman coins.
