Orient"King Diver Revival 200 M Japanese Automatic/Handwinding Sports Watch

Hermoso

Not a Diving watch - but would be the watch I'd wear travelling 20,000 leagues under the sea
You you might consider this watch if:- You have some nostalgia or link to the original model- You really like how this watch looks as a fashion watch with a good automatic movement and decent accuracyWhy I didn't want to buy this watch:- Inflated price for nostalgia because - No sapphire crystal - No screw down crown - Common movement that is in almost all current Orient day/date watches F6922. Only difference is position of day window at the 6 o'clock - Band looked unimpressive and has hollow end linksWhat did I find?More not to like:- Very poor lume. The application of the incandescents is only to the small section of the hands, and the inside ring of dots. So that in the dark, it looks like I'm wearing a tiny kids watch. The pics of the semi-dark and full dark are taken at the same height to show what the difference is for how minimal the lume is.- Honestly a very cheaply made band. Even if Orient was going for the original style, they could have put in a few extra Yuan (band made in China) to give a band worthy for this price tag.- Mine is +15s /day (not the worst, but nothing special)... I don't wear this watch often (like a day here and there) so won't adjust it.- Bi-directional bezel is black - I thought it was green at it looked green in pics. Again for nostalgia I guess they made it black.I changed the band to a NATO style nylon band that made the watch stand out a bit more for my taste. Why I bought this watch. It looked really interesting, different... and rather cool. I don't have any connection to the previous King Diver (unlike my personal interest in the "new" Bulova moon watch).I decided to keep it because it lets me dream that I was travelling on Captain Nemo's submarine (or the Beatles Yellow Submarine). NOTE: this is not a DIVING watch. Based on the WP rating it is intended for recreational swimming, snorkeling and showering... therefore to travel underwater... (did I mention "in a submarine")
