Oakenfold's best
Even the name and cover art of this album rock! A seminal work in the history of trance music, and a collection that I still regularly que-up frequently a decade after it's release, TRANCEPORT is one of the best trance collections ever produced. With instant classics like "Gamemaster," and "Rendezvous," Oakenfold has never produced another album of this quality. This is a complete, sickly awesome mix that moves effortlessly from track to track. Listening to this album is an experience. It should be listened to from beginning-to-end the first time through, and is best enjoyed in that format.Oakenfold may have lost his way in recent times (although

is also a great album) but back in 1998 when this was released, there was nothing else out there are good, and there still isn't. On my top five trance albums ever produced, TRANCEPORT should be part of any trance fan's collection. Hopefully Oakenfold will someday return to this level of greatness, and give us at least one more 5 star album before he fades from the scene. Until that happens, keep this one close.

Just too much! One of the best trance CDs ever!
I have given myself two concussions and two smashed helmets and a broken hand from riding my mountain bike while listening to this CD. Such perfect flow, just amazing. I couldn't keep my flow up to this masterpiece of fluidity. It never stops pushing the beat envelope and dares you to keep up with it all. Perfection in sound.

Way too canned
Ok, first there should be no doubt that this is a good CD. BUT, in my opinion its really lacking something that could have put it over the top. The mixing is good, but the song selection really lacks creativity. I guess perhaps that's the point of the CD - but because there are so many obvious hits here it really lacks the edge that other albums in a similar vein have - take for instance Sasha's Global Underground: Ibiza album.On the other hand, if what you are looking for is a lot of obvious hits, this album is probably for you. I just happen to think this type of CD is better when 1/4 or 1/3 of the tracks are obvious hits, and the other tracks set the mood and build toward them. In any case, I also own Oakenfold's "Resident" album, and even though its expensive its a better deal - it has a lot of the songs on this disc but does a much better job expanding a theme.

Top notch
Enough has been written already. This is one of the best CDs I've ever owned.EDIT, 2011. In fact, I'll go further: it is in fact the album that got me interested in trance. To this day it holds a special place for that alone and, even objectively, is one of the best mixes I've ever heard. I prefer the first half of the album, but one can just hit play and let it carry from track to track, and the carry is fantastic.

Not Quite Up To Par
I lked this album mixed by Paul Oakenfold. However, it's NOT what I would expect from Mr. Oakenfold. Some of the tracks seem to fall short of the the usual great beats and sounds you hear from him today. Perhaps an earlier album of his? At any rate, I still enjoyed this import from England..Dan

Truly Great Music!
I have been looking for ages for this CD, I actually tried to buy it on iTunes and could not locate - I searched Spotify and Pandora and even Shazam, could not find locate the tracks... so I just resorted to buying on Amazon. Such a great CD with amazing beats!!! Worth every penny!

good cd
Pretty good Trance cd. I had previously owned this cd years ago when it first came out. I ordered it from amazon a few weeks ago and now I cannot remember why i got rid of the cd to begin with. Brings back a lot of good party day memories.

Very emotional listening!
I really did shed a few tears when listening to this CD, which was first released in my trance hey day. It brought back so many very happy memories and reminded me of why Mr Oakenfold means so much to me. EVERY SINGLE TUNE IS AWESOME! Someone by Ascension has to be one of my all time favourites, along with Words by Paul Van Dyk. This for me, was the most awe inspiring time in music history. No matter how bad you felt, Paul Oakenfold could piece together the most mind blowing trance anthems that allowed you to escape into a happier place. I feel extremely justified in my love for Mr Oakenfold. Listen to this CD and I am sure you will understand why.
