Decent info but seriously out-of-date!
A decently written summary of beginning a Virtual Assistant business with some very valuable information but is in desperate need of an update! This 4th, and most recent edition, was published in 2010. Statistics are quoted from 2007, entire sections are dedicated to advertising in the Yellow Pages. Do those exist anywhere still?? Some of the websites referenced are no longer valid sites. A section at the beginning discusses the idea of using a Mac instead of a Windows based product. (Gasp!) Software, including WordPerfect, is described as being most purchased on CD and the need to buy a “CD book” so that you can backup your computer onto Discs and store them in a remote location for their safety. If you are looking for general information, this works, if you are looking for up-to-date information, perhaps you should look elsewhere.

So much information here....
I have been stalking the Virtual Assistant profession for about 8 years now....back when information was really really scarce. Over the years, I've collected information here and there and always said as soon as I get my business established I would compile a book so that others interested in the VA field wouldn't have to dig the way I had to. Well, Diana Ennen and Kelly Poelker beat me to the punch. And they really nailed it. Everything is covered here. As an added touch there's commentary from other VAs that provide hints and tips on their breakthru into the industry. If you are considering the profession, please do yourself a favor and pick this book up ASAP.

Highly recommend for all VAs
I LOVE, LOVE this book. I first contacted my public library so I can read the book and check if it's something I would like to keep. Oh yea! It is! I ordered this book here on Amazon, because this book has a WEALTH OF INFORMATION that is so useful for virtual assistants. This is my bible for VAs. I highly recommend it!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FROM A TO Z...... EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!
First, the Seller...ABSOLUTELY Top Notch!! Fast delivery and product was EXACTLY what I expected it to be and MUCH MORE!! Will ABSOLUTELY do business with this Seller, again. The book, "Virtual Assistant, The Series", was in excellent condition for a used book. The information that is included in this book is phenomenal for ANYONE that is beginning a career as a Virtual Assistant. It takes you from the very beginning (basics), progressing to more in-depth information. This book is LOADED with resources, examples and links to numerous websites so you can take your education, as a Virtual Assistant, to the next level (i.e. networking, education, etcetera). I am so INCREDIBLY PLEASED and SATISFIED. Thank you for providing such excellent customer service and such an amazing product!! Five Stars++++......

Wonderful Book!!!
This was one of three books I purchased when I decided to start my business as a Virtual Assistant and I will have to say this book was wonderful! There is sooo much information, knowledge, and guidance packed into this book. I would not dare sell it for it is full of highlights and earmarks!!!! This book is more than worth the cost and has given me a lot of insight on how to get started with my business. The only thing I would caution is the information provided on Training. There is a section that mentions a certification program at Red Deer College (pg 23). After reading about the program I quickly went to the school's website to retrieve additional information. The curriculum was ideal for what I had been searching for so I made contact with the school, paid for the application, enrollment, and transcript fees, and waited for the course date. Two weeks before starting my first course I discovered I am considered a "foreign" student because the program is in Canada and therefore the cost of the courses literally tripled (courses fees went from $350 each to $1,000 each). Unfortunately, all of the fees I had paid are non-refundable but I think I am more disappointed I did not have the money to attend; the school's curriculum for its VA certification program looks better than any certification program I have come across so far! I highly recommend this book for any newcomer to the VA profession!

Simply the best!
I couldn't have chosen a better guide to help me get my virtual assistant business started. The information is relevant, complete, and it took much of the fear out of tackling the important things I needed to do and know.

Great Product
This is a great book. If you are looking into this line of service/business this is the book to get you started. Great insight to what you will need, what's going to happen down the road and how to re-evaluate the company down the road. The Authors of this book know what they are talking about.

An excellent insight into the VA world!
A very valuable insight into the setting up, operating, marketing and overall running of a Virtual Assistant business. There are a few sections that apply solely to US Virtual Assistants, just on things like Tax, etc., but the majority of the book is essential information to anyone in any country. Definitely worth the money and I would still recommend it to British VA's.I purchased this book in conjunction with The Virtual Assistant Handbook: Insider Secrets for Starting and Running Your Own Profitable VA Business written by a British Virtual Assistant, Nadine Hill. Her book is more on her own experience and I believe is extremely relevant and valuable to anyone starting out and for those already in business. For us Brits, I would recommend you buy both if you can afford it (maybe shop around a bit as current prices differ). If you can get them, e-books are working out much cheaper. The Virtual Assistant Handbook: Insider Secrets for Starting and Running Your Own Profitable VA Business

Worth the money!
I found this book invaluable when starting my business in 2008. The book includes marketing information, accounting help and example letters that provide a good starting point when you feel out of your depth and on your own!It really was the best purchase I made and helped me with so many decisions that proved the right ones!My only gripe was that it was based around US VA's and not UK - although this can easily be overlooked with a bit of common sense.I would recommend to all virtual assistants already in business and the people still in the process of thinking of 'going alone'.

Not worth the money! Gimmicky book with repetitive text.
Not worth the money! Gimmicky book with repetitive text. All the information in the book is available on the internet. Save your money & do your own research as this book only repeats what you may have already read on the internet.
