Usborne Garden Sounds

I bought this Usbourne book on Garden sounds after lots of thinking and checking reviews online. I paid around 950/- for it and was hence understandably worried about the product.My child is at a curious age of 20months and has from day one loved the book.The colours are delightful. The sounds are pleasant. There are finger trails on each page. I use this as her bedtime story book. There are 8 pages with accompanying sounds. ( Frog, bird,owl, etc) There is a switch on the back cover that you can turn off when not in use. The book is a board book and has encountered several throws, bangs and hits. It's still intact!!! And that's more than enough for me.Update- After using the book for about 6 months or so, the music wouldn't play. I got the cells replaced. And it still won't work. So now i am left with a book that is too expensive as its simply a picture book.Update 2- The cells which were replaced kicked in after a while.(i kept the book near a light source)All in all, i would say it's a good buy, if the sounds continue working after cells are replaced too.Please hit LIKE if this review helped u.Thanks!!!

This book exceeded my expectations.I was looking for a new sound book for my 8 month old and searched online for a while. This one is a little different as, instead of the sound buttons all being positioned down the side of the book, as is common, they appear in different places on each page. The sounds are really lovely, not too loud and sound accurate.There is also a little story that runs through the book which I also found lacking in other 'noisy' books.Each page has peep holes through to the next and shapes cut into it for a sensory experience.Finally I love that it can be turned off at the back to preserve the battery.I'll be looking to buy the rest of this series.

I bought this for my son who is 17 months old. He is currently much more interested in books that he can engage with and enjoys pop up books and books with interesting textures or sounds. So, I thought this would be perfect for him.The book is really lovely in that it is colourful and the pages are interesting and filled with attention catching little details. My problem with it is that the sound buttons are not very responsive and only seem to work intermittently. My son became very frustrated with it because he is only rewarded for pressing the buttons on random occasions. As a result I've had to remove this book from the shelf for now. Perhaps I'll try to reintroduce it at a later date and hope he can appreciate it without the sound feature.Such a shame!

A gorgeous book. I would love to give this a five star review but some of the sounds are quite similar to one another (a lot of birds). However, they are really realistic (in fact the birds in our garden have taken to responding) and my 4 month old is really enjoying it. It also won’t stop me buying the other books in the series!! The same price of £6.99 seems like a bargain to me.Great illustrations, colourful and lots to point out. The pages have cut outs to peek through to the next page so the same creatures appear twice which is a great idea, but also there are some cut outs that just add texture to the surface. My daughter likes running her hands over the pages. The buttons are a bit hard for her to press yet.We’ve also gifted this present to a 2 year old and it’s a hit with her too so I think a worthwhile investment :)

Lovely book, I also have the jungle sounds one too, which is better in my opinion, as this one is mostly filled with bird noises, when I think they could’ve featured some other animals. Also, some of the sounds are very short). However, the item arrived damaged (see photo), and the only way I could work out rectifying this was to ask for a replacement, although I would have to pay to return the item myself, therefore costing me even more. With this in mind, paying £10 for a damaged book that I can only replace if I shell out more money is why I’m giving it such a low rating. Let down by Amazon’s service!
