RØDE PG1 Pistol Grip Cold Shoe Pistol Grip 3/8" Thread on Base

Handy handle
Simple little handle, useful for things like the Rode Video Micro, which has a cold shoe adaptor, when you want it hand held. No fancy features, just a solid lump of plastic that can screw onto a boom pole or a light stand or similar

Nice and handy... but a little overpriced
Great for holding microphones and other coldshoe mount devices, however I feel a little overpriced. It is only a piece of plastic, really, however there does seem to be a lack of alternatives out there. It is handy though, and comes with a little cable tidy too to hide your XLR away out of sight, and there is a screw thread on the bottom to attach to a boom pole or microphone stand. If you are purchasing to remove handling noise from your shotgun microphone, you may want to purchase a suspension system, as this does not reduce handling noise that much (it simply travels through the plastic and through the mount into the microphone itself). As a hand grip, however, it does the job, and provides a nice firm grip that your hand nicely fits around.

Surprisingly handy bit of kit!
Allows me to use my rode mic handheld as well as hot shoe lights and anything else that goes on a hot shoe. Can be attached to a boom pole or anything with the same thread. With a hot shoe to screw adaptor i've even put a GoPro on this and it was pretty cool.

Great accessory
Great. I can use my rode camera top mic as a handheld! Nice and comfortable.

Good stuff
It helps you avoid mic holding noises, with an DSLR photo camera for example, if you use an exterior mic out of the camera. It does what it's made for . The hold on top where the mic goes in, I call it the "shoe" isn't quite perfect. but then again, it's a plastic item !
