Ordered twice because it was so good

This thing is a BITCH to set up by yourself...you need at least 3 arms. One holding the shelf end into the wall, one keeping the constantly-sliding-in-and-out tension rods held tightly to the other wall, and one twisting the fasteners to tighten the whole thing in place. This is definitely a two person job, it took me like three days of trying, giving up, and throwing it into the corner and walking away, before somehow I finally got it up. Beware if you live alone, you need someone on hand to help you get this in place or you're in for a frustrating ride. However, once you get it up and it's secure (and level, ugh) it literally doesn't move and it's a great product! I have things on the shelf portion and I have hangers holding a couple of jackets I wear most frequently on the open rods. One is leather, the other is suede, and combined with the storage boxes on the shelf portion, this thing is fantastic and super locked into place even when holding some heavy-ish jackets. It ain't going nowhere. And thank god because if I have to put it up again by myself I will scream.

I like this product, but I don't love it. The instructions aren't great, but its fairly straightforward. To set the length of the bars you're basically screwing a pointed screw into the metal rod. It damaged the inner rod - dents it up, scratches it... If you get the length a little off the first few times you just have damaged rod sticking out. This also impacts how easy it would be to reuse in a different space, and leaves me with serious reservations about the shelf stability.I know it's approved for about 40lb but I am not comfortable putting that kind of weight on these shelves. After about 20lb it starts to slip, no matter how tight I make the tension. Its also annoying that there is no option to have the three inner rods don't extend to the full length of the shelf. And finally, the metal and plastic look isn't really my style. Its kind of hospital vibes.So far, however, the shelves are doing their job. They create storage in a spot that I've been struggling to use for years. So, for that alone, I am happy.

Every item on this shelf except the tide is 100% brand new, full, and heavy! The shelf didn’t budge at all. I was worried about assembly since everyone mentioned you need two people. I’m not sure if I found a magic trick on accident, but I installed it in one try by myself and nothing about it was difficult?I will be ordering more of these. My ONLY negative is that is only came with ivory. I would have preferred black. But otherwise, perfect for my needs. The next purchase will be for my glass shower so that I can store towels at the top of it.

HIGLHLY RECOMMEND! Giving the extra space that I need at top of my walk in closet. It's really easy to Install and sturdy. Just be aware that the extensible part does not come with 5 bars, just 2. If you are looking for extra shelf without effort and holes on the wall this is the best option for you!

We live in a shoebox condo and I'm always looking for ways to gain more storage in any spot I can. While restocking TP on the top shelf of our linen closet, I noticed that we still had a good foot of vertical space available to us. It would be difficult to reach for regular stuff but it would be nice for things like light bulbs or lesser used items. I didn't want to drill into the walls if I didn't have to so this tension rod shelf was the perfect solution. Now we store bulbs, wipes, extra rolls of TP, etc in space that wasn't previously used and were able to put away all of the little things stacking up outside of the closet. It's been up for a month with no issues. You do need to make sure you situate it where you need it to go and do as much tightening for a solid base. Once you do that, it should be good to go. May get a few more to utilize under the stair storage.
