High In Omegas & Like It For It’s Potential Health Benefits, But Unusual Taste & Not A Cooking Oil
Suma Sach’a Organic Sacha Inchi Oil is extra virgin, cold pressed, vegetable oil that’s high in omegas. It has a short life of 30 days once opened, so I store this (and other oils) in the refrigerator as rancid oil is unhealthy. Sacha Inchi Oil seems less studied than many oils. I wish I could find more information from reliable mainstream sources as this is an oil I view more as a supplement than one I enjoy eating.Sacha Inchi Oil has a low smoke point and isn’t a cooking oil, so it should be taken plain or added to cold food. I don’t love the taste, so it’s the high omega content that piques my interest as my triglycerides are slightly elevated and I’ve read Sacha Inchi Oil may lower triglycerides and increase HDLs (good cholesterol). I can get omegas from fatty fish like salmon, but farm raised and wild caught salmon are unappealing for various reasons.Ideally, I’d take a couple teaspoons plain in the morning. I did try a teaspoon and it made me nauseous, though any oil taken like that would likely make me queasy. I burped up that not so pleasant taste for hours. I also find the taste of the oil unusual; perhaps it’s an acquired taste as it’s getting easier to take, but I need to add it to cold or warm food as I can’t tolerate it straight out of the bottle. This oil has a light yellow color and it tastes somewhat nutty, but it also has a fairly pungent taste and smell that I’d describe as earthy or maybe even fishy. It’s not a neutral taste or smell or one that I enjoy such as extra virgin avocado or olive oil that I like drizzled on bread. I find it’s best as a salad dressing with lots of lemon or apple cider vinegar and seasoning and a teaspoon is okay added to a smoothie. This isn’t an oil I’d recommend for its flavor or cooking. I view it more as a supplement and potential “superfood”, but I don’t take more than 10ml a day (2 tsp) as I want more mainstream information. This brand seems good in that it’s organic, cold pressed, extra virgin and seems fresh in that it doesn’t taste rancid plus my bottle has a 9/22 expiration date if unopened (date will vary). I like this oil for its possible health benefits. 4 stars. Produced in Columbia.

Wonderful light raw nut like flavor. Great for dipping and salad dressings.
This is a newer oil to me. I have only tried it once before trying this bottle. This bottle of oil is a wonderful raw nut like flavor oil. It is light. This is NOT the oil you use to cook with but rather to top salads and finish a dish with. Kind of like a good olive oil. You don't cook with it. You use it in dishes that you don't cook.To taste this:I tried this the simplest ways possible. I dipped bread in it. It was delicious. Very different from olive oil. Light and nutty.I tried it on a salad. It was wonderfully light on the salad. I only use a small amount of oil on salads so the flavor was not as pronounced as on the bread. What I like most about this oil is the lightness of it. To me, olive oil is heavy. This is the exact opposite. Very light in feel.I am also considering exploring the skin benefits of using it topically.I like the labels on the bottle. It tells you everything you need to know about this oil. This oil is USDA organic. It is socially and environmentally sustainable. Though they don't say how. It is a product of Columbia. It is high in Omega 3, 6, and 9. Calories: 126. Fat: 14g. It tells you for uses: "optimal raw for direct consumption as table oil, for salad dressing, cold and/or hot meals. It is NOT a frying oil".

Very Green Tasting - Especially Good For Salads
I love trying out new oils and vinegars. Had no idea what to expect from this oil since I had no idea what sacha inchi oil is, other than it being some sort of olive oil. But I use olive oils all the time and was looking forward to trying this out. Before actually using it in my food, I smelled it and tasted it on my tongue. Very different than what I'm use to with other olive oils. It has a very fresh green scent and taste. Very clean and the product itself was nice and fresh. I've found that it is good for cooking, providing you use a low cooking point. What I like it best for is as a salad oil. That fresh green taste, though distinct, is very light and works perfectly with other green vegetables. Also good to use as a dipping oil with breads. It's very complementary to any herbs you may throw in with this oil.I definitely recommend this olive oil for those who have any sort of appreciation of various foods and condiments. A nice addition to your culinary cabinet.

A tasty healthful oil
Suma Sacha Organic Vegetable Sacha Inchi OilI’m always in typifying g new and unusual healthful oils. I learned long ago how important they are to a healthy body. Even when you’re on a diet to lose weight a healthful oil is a must in the regimen. An easy way to eat it is to drizzle it on your salad with a flavorful vinegar like balsamic or red wine. I used this oil with my daily salad and I quite liked it. It went very well with the greens and veggies in my salad. It has a nutty and grassy flavor and aroma. It’s very fresh is the best I can think of in describing it. There are many health benefits listed in the description that I will let stand on its own merit as I can’t prove or disprove them. I can say I’m enjoying this oil and hope it gives me all those wonderful health boosts. If you’re interested in this, give it a try.

Surprisingly tasty oil
We've always used avocado, canola and olive oils for our foods, and some have been infused with flavors. This oil was completely new to us, and we thought it would be good to try for the health benefits, and the fact that it is from a different location. The oil is not a super heavy, thick oil. It has a very pleasant nutty aroma to it that stands well on it's own as a drizzle over vegetables/salads. It is also a nice one to take up some light seasonings for a bit extra flavor. We've enjoyed using this as a drizzle over salads, and our daughter loves to add a bit of nice balsamic vinegar to hers. Overall, this is a great oil, with a nice flavor and health benefits. The cost is a bit high, but can be countered if it's used very sparingly to make it last a bit longer.
